Rinsing or washing rice removes that excess starch, resulting in grains that are more separate when cooked. (There's the added benefit that rinsing rice before cooking can reduce the level of arsenic, but FDA research shows that the impact is minimal on the cooked grain.)

Lamb Tagine & couscous for me tonight.

The lamb was marinading in the spices from 0900 then went on the hob about 16.30 so will have been on a gentle simmer for about 3 hours by the time I eat it.

I think so. I'm veggie now and it's hard to cook for the family when everyone is eats "normally"

Some really good meals in there. Takes the stress out of it. You *could* have it for a few months, store up the recipe cards and but the ingredients yourself I suppose.
