We once had a superstorm here in Newcastle that basically dropped 2 months worth of rain in the space of 15 minutes… literally 1 supercell after another

I recall the sky getting so dark it triggered the automatic lamppost lights to go on…. At 3.45 on a July afternoon!

. We had a thunderstorm last Sunday it dropped a lot of rain in the span of a hour. People were kayaking on the streets. Flood watch today into tomorrow.

Doesn’t whoever’s on top run the risk of the lightning striking them ?

UK ones don't even come close to Florida or Cuba- now they have some fucking epic downpours and thunder claps (then 10 minutes later it looks like fook all happened! )

Thunder Thursday in Newcastle did Trust me.

You had to experience it to believe it.

It was Britain's first super cell.

Absolutely awesome but scary at the same time .

Roads turned to rivers with cars floating everywhere with the drivers still inside.

lol my favorite when at our Florida house is when it's a downpour across the street and it's sunny on our side. All you see is lightning and a wall of water.

We sat at the window and watched the lightning the last time we had one, it was crazy.

The thunder was extremely loud today. We seen some fork lightning as well.

Several houses and the church in Stillington were hit by lightning today causing some damage x

Thunder Thursday was epic…. I remember a normal 40 minute drive home trying to get across the river taking 7 hours (left work at 6.30 and got home at 1am)

I remember getting stuck on the western bypass and getting a call from sis in London saying my then 5 yr old niece wanted to talk to me as she had seen it on the news and started crying! Lol

Oh they're very fucking loud when you can literally see them striking something, at that moment I realised it could have as well just struck me
