Punk ain't dead.... It just smells funny..
I don't really have any top bands...I like too many..
as for yours..
killing joke..I like pretty much everything..
The men in black..the first 3 albums my favourites.. plus the live xcert
Clash . early singles first two albums..I think London calling is way overrated..and as for Sandinista... fucking hell ..
UK subs...some classic albums and singles..some fucking poor ones to..but Charlie Harper is a fucking legend..and such a down to earth bloke..
Anti nowhere league .. classic first album and early singles..now they're a fucking embarrassment.. |

Listening to Jam early stuff, 77-78 very similar to clash early stuff, Wellers voice suited punk |

I would highly recommend a visit to YouTube to go down the punk rabbit hole.
Started one the other week with Snuff Rock...by Snuff Rock. Still know all the words to "Kill" which is a classic of 70s teen angst. |

I'm gonna be a punk anorak Here..one with chains and safety pins on though.
But snuff rock ep is actually by Alberto y Los trios paranoias...they were actually a parody of punk.. it's totally taking the piss..but it's a classic record..all the same |

Right on both counts. I couldn't be arsed to try and spell the name.
As for the parody, I never saw them live but had the EP and as a youth it felt real enough to me.
Kill in particular was properly Punk to me. Gobbing on Life was definitely more of a parody.
Seriously considering buying it again. |

Minor threat, Gorrila biscuits, sick of ot all - shout out to our American cousins but also love The Clash and Buzzcocks.
Anyone remember the all dayers at the Georgel Robey in Finsbury Park. Think I saw discharge and the exploited there and Splodgenessabounds.
The New cross inn in London does good punk events.

" used to get to the Robey a fair bit in the late 80s early 90s..went to a few all-day ones..but I've always been an evening 3 ..4 band gig person myself.. rather than the all-day thing.. been to the new cross inn a bit too.. |

Yeah, I did not expect to see Earth Crisis mentioned ha!
Very much grew up in the late 90s/2000s UK punk scene, especially the more HC stuff.
As times gone on, I'd say some of my favourite punk bands are,
The Stooges
The Damned
Wipers
Fugazi
Tranzmitors |

Adding my love to all the Clash fans on here - including Sandinista, which one poster has maligned.
I also saw Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros and it was such an amazing gig (at the now defunct TJs in Newport). Just a month before Joe Strummer died. I remember they started with the Clash’s “Police on My Back” - the crowd went nuts with that guitar/siren intro, spilled into the stage (only about a foot high) and knocked everything over. A good natured announcement that there’d be a 10 minute break and they re-opened with something a little more down key!
Also way to add to the love shown Stiff Little Fingers and Dead Kennedys on here. |

the name is pathetic. trying too hard."
Why you would say that I've no idea. These guys struggle to have money for instruments or recording time and what little profit there is it goes to foodbanks in our area. Why you would write that we've no idea. Sad reality sad |

I also remember seeing Tankard there. Used to love the handy shelves around the pillars. Although they were quite painful when collided with when a pit opened up lol. |
