It’s not all about sex

Sometimes it’s about feeling safe with someone. Safe enough to be yourself including when you have the sex. But it’s about building something first.

Do you feel like that connection is sometimes needed with sexual partners. It doesn’t have to be Love or romantic feelings but is safety and trust important to you when it comes to sex?

Up My Own Arse Apparently

If I don't trust you then you don’t get access to any part of my body. That includes my mind.

.

I need that connection with a sexual partner to actually feel proper desire towards them.

I can think "oh so and so is hot" but not want to have sex with them until I know them, have that connection. In a similar vein, once trust is broken I can struggle to imagine myself having sex with that person again.

Safety and trust is incredibly important to me when it comes to having sex. If I don't trust someone? I'll be having doubts. And I'd rather go without sex than feeling crap following it.

If I don't trust someone, how can I feel comfortable enough to be myself around them? Relax during sex? Lacklustre just doesn't cut it for me any more and if I can't be me around them, I'd rather skip the sex.

We were over 18 in the seventies. Connection and feeling safe wasn't a consideration for a lot of us. Things are a bit different now the advent of 'safe sex' made people suspicious of each other.

Nope, humour is first for me. If you don't get along, you aren't hearing each other so you're not going to enjoy each other. I suppose that implies trust, though not in a 'we're about to wed as we have chatted forever and have such an amazing connection', type way.

The Sol

I, mrs., definitely agree.

If someone made me feel safe, heard and respected when I was single I would note it in my veri.

Its a vulnerable thing to open your body to someone.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to relive your youth in more modern times?

Definitely, not sometimes but every time for me, I need to be able to feel comfortable and safe in their presence have a good connection and be able to chat and laugh, without that there's no sex.
