Price of a pack of 8 s day before yesterday - £3.80

Price of a pack of 8 s today - £4.20!!!!!

Everything is going up day by day in Tesco. No justification for it at all, just pure corporate greed. Even the price of petrol is a joke with them.

That's gone up 3p on day before yesterdays price!!

Fuck 'em, we're not going there any more, we'll be off to Aldi or Lidl and maybe Morrisons.

You sure they weren't on offer yesterday? Also, how much do you drink in a day lol

And as for the petrol, think all petrol companies are raising their prices.

No, not on offer - not all for me, my daughter & missus like also. Was actually day before yesterday.

I reckon they've pre-empted the forthcoming 4p rise in petrol.

Not bothered where petrol is bought as long as I am not getting ripped off - but that, admittedly is hard to do these days with petrol. Have to buy a push bike and get fit!!! lol

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Two Tescos near me. The one in the rural town of Blandford Forum`s petrol and diesel prices are consistently higher than the one in Poole where .. there`s more competition!

Shop somewhere else. Simple. Although, if you have an issue with any business that tries to make money you might struggle to find anywhere that suits you.

Yeah, probably easier to just whinge and moan about it and keep shopping there as if you're being forced to.

The price of petrol in the tesco beside me is 130.9 which I think is competitive. It was 129.9 the other week though.

Retailers fluctuate their prices regularly, it's not just Tesco's, it's all of them....even the much heralded on these forums Aldi and Lidl's.

It's nothing new, it's gone on for years and it's dictated by manufacturers wholesale offers and upcoming and outgoing shop floor offers.

The only way to hit supermarkets is by going back to buying meat from a butcher's, veg from your green grocer, or market. Bread from your bakers.

Or accept you pay more for the convenience of having it all under one roof 24 hrs a day in some cases.

I like shloer, when it comes to tescos, asda or siansburies, well asda wins hands down.

If you think tesco is dear why not buy your from iceland or farmfoods instead. IT is the rural shops that suffer for variety though

Price rotation....it's what all UK supermarkets do, it's standard practice within the industry.

And in the main it's dependant on what prices they themselves are paying on any given day of the year from the manufacturers or wholesalers.

Take just One best selling item from a supermarket basket.....Cathedral City Mature Cheddar Cheese.

On one sales cycle they will offer a special purchasing deal to Asda, on the next sales cycle they then offer that same deal to Tesco's....then Sainsburys, then Morrisons.....

The same with Coca Cola, Clover, Heinz Beans, Persil, Walkers Crisps....and just about all manufacturers.

It's nothing new, it's been going on since the birth of supermarkets in the UK

I used to eat entire packets of their store brand cookies, until they pushed the price up from 50p to 59p, I think they're up to 65p now.

Still, they had to stop me emptying their shelves somehow.

Bristol

Price of a certain tin of biscuits in Tesco before Christmas (October) £4, same tin November £12, mid-end December £8, January, on "sale" January £6.

All supermarkets do it but Tesco is one of the worst. We've voted with our feet and now shop at Lidl first, Aldi second and anything else we need, Morrisons next door.

Re fuel prices, Asda and Tesco have significantly different pricing policies.

Asda claim to be the cheapest and the same price from Lands End to John O' Groats. Tesco however, claim to be competitive in any given area, which in my humble opinion is a bit of a pathetic joke.

I was recently in Ballymena, Northern Ireland where Tesco and Sainsburys are a few hundred yards apart on the same road. The supposedly great Tesco's diesel was 2ppl dearer than Sainsburys!!

Tesco's current slogan is "Every little helps". Well 2p could be described as 'little', but if I was a resident of Ballymena I know where I'd be buying my diesel. After all, every little helps!!

Aldi and Lidl first, then to Asda for what we couldn't get at the other two.

But we do use an excellent butchers and fruit shop in Weston also every week.

Despise Tesco.
