I was scrolling through this section of FB earlier and I was shocked at how many people I know from FAB , and some I barely know but recognise ...
I try and keep FB totally seperate and although I do have 1 fab friend on there it's bloody scary...
Anyone else get this ( and no I'm not saying who haha ) ?? |

Why I am asking is if you use the same device then fab and fb are never separate they one in the same
Just like ever other thing in that device belongs to fb |

It’s mostly down to people giving Facebook (or Instagram, or Threads) access to their phone contacts.
When you give someone your number, you just have to accept that they might have that stuff switched on. It’s out of your hands. |

Internet history chat logs from apps the lot basically have fb instead in to your phone you give them access to read the full device |

Its not people we recognise as such however we have run into people we know from our personal lives such as folks who work in shops and the like and even a couple that live in the same small village we do. We never let on though |

Yes all on my phone ...
I get all the tech and that it's just scary how many ..
Some I barely know and don't speak to off fab ..
I get the WhatsApp connection as its the same company but the rest I just don't get  |

Not only on here but on the scene in general, it’s surprising a big community 
We met a couple we know from 20 years ago in the vanilla world at a social recently, once over the initial surprise it worked well as we laughed it off and all got on like a house on fire leading to all night fun back in our hotel.
We are all in this for the same thing and the majority and not going to brag about meeting you on here or in a club |

Yeah, but it’s the ‘six degrees of separation’ thing. Connections of connections. And if the system sees that a bunch of people know each other, and that one of them knows you, it guesses that you may know them all. That’s the point. |

Yeah someone from here shows up regularly on my FB people you might know, but that’s cos I do know her and we have mutuals.
I just told her she’d popped up and had no intention of crossing that boundary even though if I see her out we always say hi and are cordial  |

I only learned recently about the connection between fan and social media being on the same phone.im glad I have a separate phone for fab as it solves this problem! |

I think it's when you use other apps to chat that use your numbers etc. And then it kind of syncs you up on all of your social media which is slightly unsettling. No such thing as privacy anymore.  |

I think it’s safest to assume that all your online activity is tracked and collated by someone, and your only anonymity is the same as it always has been, i.e. lost in the crowd. This will of course work only if someone is just trying to stalk you on a whim, it won’t offer any protection against a tech company or someone with skills and determination. |
