I said this on another thread but I'll say it again: it's always a deadline of 31st January every year.
File in August when they actually answer the helpline. HMRC send you a bill just before Christmas, you pay it in January and it's all over. |

Or if you do it online they give you the bill straight away and you can pay it there and then
I wouldn't advise waiting this late to do it though, I imagine it might crash with all the late tax retuners :-0 |

I never ever can see why people panic and then leave it to the last minute!
