I'm firmly in favour of reintroducing wildlife that has been hunted to extinction in the UK.

Bears. Boars. Wolves.

Fuck it... I want tigers and all sorts of shit.

There are already Wild Boar in the New Forest, being culled because they have bred and spread so far so rapidly they are causing immense environmental damage. They are also an aggressive species towards humans.Poland is culling it's population of Wild Boar because of the threat of SVD getting into farmed pigs.By reintroducing wildlife you mean putting these species on someone else's property and workplace without their consent.I'm sure farmers and their sheep will be really happy to see a pack of Wolves. You could do it secretly though by putting the Wolves in Sheeps clothing.

If you want to see wild and dangerous animals then go to a zoo. Wild animals have no place in the British countryside and remember this lesson. There was a reason that these evil beasts were hunted to extinction. They are dangerous buggers. Be careful what you wish for..

Tom I totally against these rewilding types. They are trying to play God and the locals are the chess pieces that will suffer

Can't be doing that now folks .. us humans have a god given right to take over every part of the planet and wipe out anything that we don't like or think might be dangerous . That's why we have zoos, to keep the animals for our amusement.

correct.England was a totally different country when Wolves and Boar roamed the land.Sparsley populated and with for example,Sherwood Forest stretching west across Nottinghamshire,Derbyshire and into Cheshire.Re-wilding is clueless lazy land (non) management. That is why the desk pilots of organisations like the National Trust are into it.

It's fair that we don't dominate everything. And some ecosystems will definitely benefit from other species.
