I need to let the world know that I have horrific toothache
I’m sure we can all sympathise about how bad any degree of toothache is
£240 later and I’ll be getting it extracted, EEK
Any tips on dealing with it? Bare in mind, I have a severe fear of the dentist after a botched filling when I was 15 (which has caused these years of issues) |

Soluable paracetamol,
Clove oil even though disgusting can help, anything with codeine in will help. Lidocaine is fab just doesn't last long enough.
As for the nerves not a lot I can suggest. Good luck though. |

Yes, go to boots or a pharmacy and ask for a temporary tooth repair kit, it has ‘tooth putty’ you cover the hole or crack in your tooth and it’ll stop it hurting and even let you eat comfortably
I think they’re about £8 or something |

Clive oil is fantastic although I agree it tastes rank, it works really well though and makes anything it touches go numb, maybe apply with an ear bud or something |

Before you go in do some deep breathing exercises.
I find in and out through my nose works for me and you can do that in the chair too.
I stare at the ceiling and count the tiles if I'm feeling a little panicky.
I don't mind the dentist on the whole, I just get a bit claustrophobic under the light.

"Alternate between paracetamol and ibuprofen for some pain relief"
This! Op are you looking for advice about dealing with the toothache while you wait for your dental appointment? or advice after having the tooth out/managing the appointment as you're nervous? X |

A bit of both really
I’ve been using painkillers and they only seem to just be working so the already suggested natural remedies are a god-send |

"Sorry to hear about your pass issue with dentist. Having root canal surgery a few years back it was uncomfortable but I just relaxed. "
Yeah he did mention root canal yesterday and I said I’d rather he just take it out, it’s caused me so many issues I just want it gone |

Ibuprofen over paracetamol as it helps with the swelling of the nerve that is actually throbbing (Dentist told me this). I find gargling with warm salty water helps a bit or listerine but leaving it in your mouth to sit over the tooth for a bit.
Elevate your pillows at nighttime too so you’re not laying too flat which always seems to make it throb more.
Tooth pain is shit - hope you feel some relief soon. |

You can take co-codamol and ibuprofen together, just don't take anything else containing paracetamol.
Benzocaine (orajel) can be quite effective, it comes in two strengths 10% and 20% both are OTC medicines.
Keep your head elevated at night as the blood flow increases the pain.
Or you can call NHS24 and request an emergency appointment with OOH dentist. If your pain is severe they are most likely to see you. |

Is this where we herd together many, many blokes called Clive and push them into some sort of big press? Squish them all together and bottle the resultant ooze?!
Does it work with Geralds as well? |

Strongest painkillers you can get your hands on! Keep it clean with regular salt water or soluble aspirin.
Then root canal asap if they are advising it. Don’t lose a tooth unless you have no other option |
