I'm bored of looking now and I'm sure I've scoured every possible shop. I'm really hoping someone can suggest somewhere I might have missed.

Where can I look for a black ball gown?

Please and thank you

Like tip on Debenhams don’t shop there they marked up with the debenhams tag

They owned by boohoo they literally stop the same stuff

Only difference is label on the inside says Debenhams the other says boohoo

I literally got a skirt from boohoo last week on sale £7 debenhams wanted £25 for it

Floofy, either full length or knee length. Ideally something I can wear a proper bra under.

eBay charity shops worth a look too. East Anglia Children's Hospice often have formal wear. The British Heart Foundation eBay shop is huge.

Tried all of them. Spent 4 hours in bluewater last weekend. Maybe I'm just fussy

I know what I want in my head but I've only found one thing like it so far and the sizing is all wrong. It's a lot to spend to them spend extra to get it adjusted too.

Manchester (she/her)

House of Fraser have 12 black dresses under the category "ball gown"

Monsoon has two or three under black occasion dress which might fit your criteria

John Lewis have at least a handful that might fit your criteria under dress - black - prom or evening

Might be a stretch or expensive - maybe bridesmaid's dresses might give you something appropriate?

I feel your pain. I'm looking for something to wear to a wedding, but needs to be modest and not have a plunging neckline etc. I tried on all sorts at the Trafford Centre, ordered and sent back a bunch and await the next delivery for further attempts, but am about ready to wear a bin bag!

I joked about a bin bag too! This is for a wedding. You'd think finding a black fancy dress would be easy

Would a trip to the outlet place at Ashford be possible. I reckon you'd get something there

I presume you've already had a walk around Bluewater and lakeland.

I've always liked Monsoon. They have some lovely clothes.
