hi there, i've been on the site for a while, but am just starting to use it properly 
just wondered if someone would mind giving my profile a look and advice on how to improve it

OK.. my suggestion is that you move the 'only looking for' bit to the end. Most of that should be in your account details already, i.e. you should have ticked the boxes??
Your next paragraph is more appealing.
People don't want to hear about your disasters. That sounds a bit self-pitying. Leave that stuff to when you meet someone and have got to know them. We've all got skeletons in our cupboards.
I will now await the onslaught of 'experts' who will tell me that I am talking a load of bollocks and am too old and past it. |

Thanks. Any amount of input is good really. And I can see where your comin from on those bits.

I'm sorry for that. But both is true. I'm not goin to explain why, as that's my personal life.

No but you could say something like
'whilst I registered a year ago, personal issues have stopped me using the site for a while but they are all sorted and I am now back with a vengeance'  |
