So I normally laugh at these, I’m not too concerned with my browser data being shared, but the strangest thing just happened….
Earlier today, I was searching on dubizzle for used BMW. Then I was chatting to my daughter on WhatsApp., she was saying, she liked the 4 series I used to own, and I said it was from Sytner back home. Then we chatted about various things, and she asked if I had seen a certain girl.
Now, I just finish work and log onto Facebook. First thing that pops up is the certain girl likes Sytner BMW. So I message and ask her when did she like that page, just now or ages ago, and she said she never did.
Spooky? |

Not really spooky.
Quite predictable really.
People are often unaware of the trail of cookies and breadcrumbs that their seemingly random clicking produces.
It’s not as random as you imagine. |

"Check your cookie settings. "
I’m really not that bothered , I generally click accept all. If I want to do anything private or purchase anonymously I have a separate device with Tor & a wallet.
What is a little erring is the speed they process & link the data and create fake interactions from friends. |

"We sometimes test it out by talking about something. 9/10 times an ad for it will pop up. "
I did that with my daughter last year, and the random thing we spoke about came up as an advert on my Facebook later that day. |
