What is your favourite coffee?

Pumpkin spice lattes.
When I'm not being a basic bitch? Probably a double espresso with a brown sugar cube but I'm not really meant to be drinking caffeine at the moment so I normally have an iced coffee and pretend the ice lessens the effect of caffeine. |

I use an aeropress too Shag. Grind beans and heat milk using Dualit machines.
This weeks guest coffee is Lofbergs, Brazilian Arabica, sweet and caramelly, medium roast.
I’m looking forward to the next one - ‘Grumpy Mule’ roasted in Yorkshire.. it’s a very dark roast. I’m a little concerned to be honest |

My needs are simple: either a good espresso macchiato or an Americano. At home, always from my trusty Moka pot (also, can we have a word about its beautiful, timeless design quality?!).
I occasionally treat myself to a flat white or cappuccino, but only if I know the place makes good ones; I won't chance it anywhere... |

Sounds like fun lol but why not just buy the already ground stuff and mix it?
I looked at this a while back grinding beans I mean. But the beans are the same price as the already ground coffee for the same weight |

Yes, when you are not that, that double expresso with brown sugar sounds good too. Iced coffee is good. I see. I couldnt go a day without caffeine, could you?

And if coffee is available, a cappuccino.
And if I could stretch you to serve me something special, it’s a salted caramel or a gingerbread from Costa.
Or simply shove some rum Into a freshly ground filtered coffee, and whipped cream. |

A macchiato with a reduced amount of milk, using dark roast beans (preferably an African variety). Freshly ground and using a warmed cup.
I did have some beans once that had been stored in bourbon barrels, which gave the coffee a wonderful flavour. It was definitely an after dinner taste, not for daytime drinking. |

Jamaican Blue Mountain, tad pricey but the best coffee I’ve d*unk, was once told one of the Marley family helped run the coffee farm but can’t confirm this |

Sounds like fun lol but why not just buy the already ground stuff and mix it?

Because I find pre-ground coffee loses the fresh aroma a day or so after opening the packet. Beans seem to retain the aroma which is released on each new grinding. I'm no expert, but I think this is because ground coffee oxidises once the packet is opened. That doesn't happen with beans because they have less surface area exposed to air - the volatile compounds remain locked-up. |

I enjoy getting coffee beans from Square Mile, their Filter Blend is lovely but will sometimes splash out on one of their speciality blends however both are not cheap.
I most often get Union Sumatran coffee beans from Sainsbury's as love the aroma and taste but also are the only off the shelf brand I've seen that have a "Roasted On" date so i can get the most recently roasted one.
I usually brew using a Clever Dripper but on occasion will break out the Mokka Pot |

The farm that springs to mind is El Salvador Finca Argentina, although Brazil Fazenda Inglaterra and Cachoeira da Grama also spring to mind, and Bolivian coffee is always pretty special.
Or try their filter pack on their website - it's very good value compared to individual bags, if you can spring to it. |

I bought an espresso machine a couple of years ago and it’s ruined me for instant coffee. It’s also ruined me for less than fresh beans, which is pretty much what you get in any coffee shop. As for my favourite? There’s so many I don’t think I’ve used the same bean twice lol. But fresh beans (within a couple of weeks from roasting) and medium roast. |

Mokka pots are made for good coffee.
That said, I've just invested in a new barista machine and burr grinder.
I don't drink that much coffee (a couple of shots a day) but life is meant for the enjoyment of all things.
The smell of freshly ground beans is just the start...
Peruvian dark roasted beans.
Espresso, brown sugar.

That said, I've just invested in a new barista machine and burr grinder.
I don't drink that much coffee (a couple of shots a day) but life is meant for the enjoyment of all things.
The smell of freshly ground beans is just the start...
