Was having a discussion with the ol therapist about imposter syndrome. Got me thinking. I hate thinking too much. Anyway what makes you more informed than *just* opinionated?
Take 2: |

Not just by listening but actually examine the merits of a counter argument to your original opinion without prejudice and being aware of any possibility of uncon*ci*us (not allowed that word, darn it) bias on your part.
Then doing some research through multiple sources to see if that counter argument has any merit and making a decision on your opinion based on that.
It’s a prefect game for an over thinker |

I used to be opinionated more so than I am now. I used to love debates and put in an opinion in on something. I have no real knowledge of. Only age and experience has taught me. It's better to be corrected when wrong to move forward with knowledge. Than to be blind and stupid |

Depends on the subject at hand. I'm pretty honest if I have no Scoobies on the subject and if interested (rarely let's be fair) I may enquire.
I am opinionated though but I'm one to let people have their opinions, it's only if I know factually they are talking shit (again, rarely to be fair) that I would get quite confrontational about it! |

"I think reading is a good one. I think Reading usually makes you more informed on things. Not just listening. "
Neither are of any benefit without the intellectual capacity to digest that which you have consumed |

I'm informed,opinionated and best of all,totally judgemental.
It upsets the equilibrium of this site as I'm not "amazing".
Judging by the appalling verifications I think most of you are shallow, needy, desperate and unoriginal.
"Omg, what can I say,if you're lucky enough, oral skills, respect this women" blah blah fucking blah.

Listening…… examining both sides of the story/debate ….. and then coming to a conclusion of your own (always happy to have my mind changed after forming my conclusion) |

Reading is good and with a thirst for knowledge, if something raises an interest, I will be double checking it and researching to be more informed.
In a discussion yesterday with parents, they were objecting to the foreign aid we give and adverts pleading for it on tv. I informed them we receive aid as well and when five minutes allowed was checking my opinion and the figures. (UK received over 2 billion in 2020)
Listening is also good though... I listen to radio 4 and pretty sure that helps with being more informed. |

"Surely that is listening!"
And reading!
Always question what you see and are told.
Research it, read up on it ( from all sides ) and the draw your conclusions
Then review your conclusions constantly and revise where necessary.
Never close yourself down to new ideas and/or new procedures

I am a good listener. I listen to other people's opinions all the time. It is important to me for other people to air their opinions on all matters. Then I will tell them how I am right and they are wrong. That is very therapeutic. Much loves. |
