Is the camping in caravan club membership worth it?

Good evening everybody, I've recently bought a caravan and I'm unlikely to use it much apart from festivals.

I've seen that the Camping and Caravan Club offers some very small sites but you have to be a member to use them, for those of you who use these sites what are they like?

I'm only likely to be able to use one a couple of times a year so I'm not sure it's worth it for me.

Any tips or opinions are very welcome.

I used them for tents and they were definitely worth it. They have some good sites.

If it's only a few times then i wouldn't bother.

The fees are quite high as it is . If you hunt around for your trips there are some absolute stunner's out there anyway.

We’re members of the caravan & motorhome home club purely so we can use the cheaper small 5 pitch sites. It’s £60 per year but we can save that in 1 or 2 bookings

I agree with Daisy but a lot of people like joining organisations either for camaraderie and actual or perceived benefits. Certainly, for tent camping and simple camper van exploits, independence has its appeal. Wild camping is not impossible if one is clever about it.

Caravanning is a different game.
