Den of Iniquity

I was at a festival/ carnival thingy yesterday and they had that Kentucky Derby Game where you throw the balls into the holes and the horses race against each other ( or camels on some haha ) ..

I felt like I was 10 years old again haha ...

But as these are usually on Seaside Piers my question is what is your favourite amusement on Seaside Piers...

Slot Machines , Prize Bingo , The 2p drop machines , Basketball game , or something else ?

.

There's a interactive deal or no deal game that I quite enjoy, top prize is 2000 tickets so we can use them to buy whatever prize looks least rubbish

The old Penny arcade at the end of Southport Pier. It's like visiting the amusements and a museum at the same time. And a very inexpensive way to pass the time too. Plus as I (Mr) am a bit of a mechanics and analogue electronics buff it all has an extra level of magic for me.

Obviously there's that!

But generally not allowing anyone else on my machine until I'm done. Plus I end up getting dragged away by my husband because the arcade is closing.

High Lighthouse!

Just the smell of the places take me back to my childhood. The electric tang of the bumper cars, the chips, doughnuts...

I lived 30 mins away from Walton/Clacton as a kid so quite often we would pop over at the weekend.

I still live close today, but don't visit much.

Probably Things like the "crap toy grabbers". I could always pretend I was doing it for my kids (and now grandkids), but really it's because I like them.

Mr C

(Ms C. basically lived on Walton pier as a kid)

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

"pennies by the sea" is a great book if you like arcade nostalgia.

Having great grandparents that lived a couple of miles outside Blackpool,I spent a lot of time just wandering round the piers and arcades. My great grandmother ended up getting banned from most of the arcades for tipping the penny falls machines, she was built like a house side if you are thinking little old lady.

All the old machines 5p play have fun and not loose a fortune.

I love the old video games but as they have now become collectible they are rare.

Bingo with my Nan. Then on to the 2 penny push, before finishing finding Grandad at the fruit machine where I was allowed to pull the big handle to spin it, as the rest of the game was bad as gambling or we sit and play the horses as that wasn’t really gambling either.

If I’d won anything I’d find the laughing policeman box and put my money in to make it laugh.

Simple times, simple pleasures, good times & memories

Just recently spent a couple of hours in an arcade, was good to relive memories and then give all the tickets away
