best places to get genuine discount codes and not those sites that say 'no code required' which is just a deal and not a discount code.

Booking com has some when you sign in - thanks

If you regularly use hotels, go for membership points in any of those big chains where you prefer staying wherever you go. I personally travel a lot for hiking and stay in hotels during my trips. Unfortunately, the big chains are usually not present in these places. So I prefer booking website where I am at level 4 in the loyalty program which gives me a lot of discounts.

Booking dot com is quite good for rewards if you use them regularly. We get 20% off pretty much any hotel on there now, I think the standard is 10% after two bookings.

Hotels dot com is useful as it operates likes a loyalty card. After 10 stays you get a reward stay of average price of the 10, you pay the difference if it’s more. Not a discount code but still useful if you use hotels often.

Central

Don't forget to use cashback sites, if the places being booked use them. Instant discounts are always priority to a possible future payout or rewards though. Aim for maximum benefits if you can. And always compare prices for the same place and what you're paying for.

Get on hotel mailing lists for sale notifications.
