"I always feel shafted after buying jewellery for someone."

Does that depend on who you're buying it for or do you mean you mean shafted by the price? x

I find lots of jewellery interesting as art objects. Simple jewellery for everyday use can look great on people and finish a look or add to their identity. Dripping in it on the way to bingo or yhe gym, not so much

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

Depends what it is and where.Consider buying pre owned jewellery,it's instantly cheaper because there is no VAT,cheaper again because it's pre owned.

Example standard slim 16 inch silver chain, about £2.50 from the manufacturer,£20+ new in a jewellers,£6-8 pre owned.

I would t say I find jewellery in its own right sexy but a person I find sexy and why they wear it is much more of an attraction. The stories behind pieces, catching them playing with it mindlessly, how it seta off their eyes/outfit/their personality.

The OP was asking if people found jewellery sexy not good value

Sexy is an odd description... I like wearing it to enhance my mood or outfit, but i can't think of an occasion when I've thought oft that glittery earring is so sexy, its turning me on

I am well aware of that.I was replying and trying to be helpful to those who are not confident or knowledgeable enough to buy jewellery without the nagging feeling they have been ripped off.

A man wearing jewellery as in a leather type bracelet or corded necklace with/without a pendant will make me look twice for some reason.

I am with you that it's there to complement and create a look to convey a feeling, desire or sense of identity. Cleopatra used it to elevate and confirm her status but also to gift to others like Antony to reward for their 'loyalty', wink, wink

No, if I'm honest. It's not a word that I would associate with jewellery.

Definitely, for me I love earrings and have quite a collection ranging from classy to full on Pat Butcher trash. On men I prefer silver. I like multiple pierced ears and flesh tunnels. Facial, nipple and penis piercings are good too.

Also chunky skull rings and bracelets, like the designs by "the Great frog" I'm a total magpie and love trinkets and baubles.

Can’t say I’ve ever found it sexy if honest, I generally don’t notice it. Don’t own or wear any myself, not my thing

Anklet…. Of course.

Earrings, rings necklaces. And the more delicate they are, the more I like them.
