Hope the link is ok. A friend shared this info with me recently. Great news to make it easier to prosceute. Too often people misuse images/videos, in this scene, as well as in dating/ relationships

This is a step in the right direction.

I love they have already covered unsolicited sending of pics, I dread the day my little girl is old enough for social media and the creeps that think it's ok to spam inboxes with their cocks.

Oh to be a young girl now, having those experiences, & pressure to send pics that can never be removed, once out there. Feel for you!

We all need to share, encourage better behaviour from the people in our circle of influence, & use the laws available when it happens to change culture. For the benefit of all of us, especially the younger generation to have healthy, meaningful relationships.

I’m not the most clued up when it comes to legal stuff but would this mean people sharing pictures on this website without consent would face the maximum sentence as it would be for some form of sexual gratification?

As far as I understand, I think it would be easier to legally pursue someone who was using pics without informed consent, here as they no longer need to prove it was in order to cause distress.

It also goes to what you teach your children as well.

Making sure the teens know not to share pics online as once posted its difficult to get them removed.

Just as much as telling your teen children not to share any type of pic with someone if they intend to keep it private.

Once they send it its no longer private.

As goes for teen pressure to send them we have choices what we do.

Is it worth being bullied for sending a nude pic

and that onus is on the parent

Theres plenty of pics on this site that dont have the users consent.

Mostly posted by males but there is plenty of them via the female side of it as well.

Absolutely! And people are well within their rights to address that with the police/ legally if they wish to.

No one should be posting content of others without their permission.

Maybe Fab need to change their rules about single people posting pics with others in then.

You’d think so as there’s no way to tell if permission has been granted unless you can tag other members in the photo and they approve it.

Now, I'm fully behind these new measures. But I want to ask a question which will certainly divide opinion concerning children and phones.

My question is, should children be allowed to own smartphones?

How many stories have we heard about children coercing other children into taking and sharing explicit photos of themselves?

If it's a matter of them being useful just in case of emergencies, there are basic non-smart phones available.

I agree with the law change but some of the issue also lies here with the sender in the first place.

Because he/she didnt say no once but twice, once when the photo was being taken and again before he/she sent the photo to someone.

no means no

There is a video film of this example that parents can show there teens what can happen,

I think it should be shown in school at 13 as its a none adult content film.

As a responsible parent ive had the dad daughter talk.

no means no becareful of boys talk and so on.

Dont send pics of yourself to anyone as you no longer control who sees it once its sent.

I provided a basic nokia phone good enough for phonecalls.

so no photos could be taken

As goes for schools they should ban smart phones, Then it dosnt become a fashion thing at school like it has done.

Each way can be beaten the only way to make sure that consent has been given for the photo is to remove all photos with another person in them.
