I'm in an apartment block. I'm friendly with the ones in the same immediate area, but just to say hi kind of friendly.
The ones upstairs are going to trample through my ceiling one of these days, and don't quite realise we're not that close.
They do not have a key to my flat. Hell no. |

Do you have any close by?
Yes
Do you like them?
Yes, in fact we are all friends.
Do you speak and/or socialise with them?
Yes, every day.
Do they have a key to your house?
Only if i'm away for more than 3 days. One of my neighbours and her daughter feed my cats. |

I like most of mine, a month or so big John 2 doors down was having a bbq and he sent bait down for me and my sons as we were busy in the garden sometimes drops fresh eggs in or some of his home made curry
The lad next door and his family also sound he found my wallet once when I was having a really bad day and put It back through my letter box and slipped an extra note or two in as it was a little light haha not really but the rest is true.
The lad and his son next door the other way nice they mostly keep self to self but the dad always talks he hates the sun so is seldom seen this time of year
It’s refreshing as had a nightmare with neighbours at first house including having to fight on the front lawn once in front of the exes kids and nearly having too a second time. Loved the house at first but was ruined by neighbors |

I get on with my neighbours
I don’t socialise with them
One has a key as they look after my dog occasionally and I do the same for them.
I am always polite unless I have a reason not to be.

I’m in the delightful position of having to live in a flat. I can’t find a single new build house near me for less than about £375k which, with the current interest rates and living on my own, is impossible.
So, despite not being a people person, I have to live in close proximity to some. Most of them are ok, some of them not so much. But no one gets a key to my house under any circumstances. |
