Brighton - even Hove!

I’ll watch some. Many years ago the Tour de France came to Brighton and I could sit in my garden and watch them whizz by. The crashes are always horrendous - like dominoes sometimes.

Yep. Hope Cav bags one. And hope it’s an interesting race this year. Time trials bore me.

Woohoo!!! I shall be watching from 11am tomorrow and will catch as many live shows as I can. But usually I end up watching the highlights as work takes over.

I’ve now stopped cycling so don’t feel guilty about watching it and not doing it!

Any predictions on winners for this year? I haven’t caught any of the big build up races like the Dauphine etc.

The Netflix series gives a really good insight to the inner workings of team life. I watched it as part of my build up this year!

Go Fred!

I know what you mean about Pog. I usually hate arrogant young sportspeople but he’s actually a very likeable young man and a fair sportsman (like when he waited for vingegaard). Not like max verstappen who’s just a c**t.

The UAE team are probably the strongest overall. Pidcock and Mas could produce the goods in the mountains but the race is Pogs to lose. But everything can change in a couple of days with the tour

Me too.. genuinely love it.

I did some of the legs of the Uk when it passed through a few years ok.. especially through the Yorkshire dales and they were tough..

I can’t imagine how they do the climbs that they do.. incredible stuff.

I’ve been to the alps and done loads of the climbs. It’s so cool to recognise things like the famous hairpins on alpe d’huez, the lacets de montvernier, Galibier, telegraph etc.

Although I only remember them because I had to look at each corner for so long before getting there hahaha

Can't wait, already got my fantasy team in on Velogames. Got Pog as my main man but not so sure now as I think his wrist injury is going to hold him back a bit. Alaphilippe and Cav are my favourite riders.

"Good chance for Cavendish today, with a sprint finish in Bordeaux..."

I can't see it myself. I would love it for him to do so but having no team behind him and with Philipsen being so strong it would take something happening to get Cav home on this one. There again I am next to last in my fantasy league.

Yea I was too. But it’s all terribly British that he didn’t! He’s still by far and away the best sprinter that’s ever competed and I bet he won’t miss the endless questions about it all. I’d also argue that Merckx’s record is better due to the diverse nature of his dominance. Still arguably the greatest cyclist to have ever competed.
