"I live on the coast.
It's beautiful.
It's where CS Lewis was inspired in his description of Narnia so you could say I live in a fantasy world." wow Never realised it was Ireland where he got his inspiration for Narnia |

"Who would like to live on the coast and for what reason and where? Also do you live on the coast and What's the pluses of living there and maybe minuses? "
I have holidayed in Jersey three times and it’s my favourite place in the world. I want to retire there to a place on the northern cliffs and fall asleep every night to the sound of the sea crashing on the rocks. They have beautiful beaches, rugged cliff top walks and beautiful old harbours. And the lighthouse I visited when I got cut off by the tide!
The air is pure, the fish is as fresh as it gets and I can see the Germans coming. |

"I grew up by the coast and miss it very much. My folks still live there, but visits tend to be drinking tea in relatives houses "
You can visit me for a long weekend. Tea is banned and you’re only allowed inside for sleep and sex. |

The beach is only 10 mins away, though to be honest I rarely go there this time of the year. I think one big downside is the lack of trees, I come from a forested area originally, now I miss trees. |

But living by the coast, right by the sea... I would love that very much.
I have both, I live in the countryside that just happens to be by the sea "

We live on the coast and the biggest problem with it is actually tourists. It's simply the added volume of traffic and if its a nice day its like a cattle market and mostly we found that they can be very rude if from certain areas as they think we should be privileged to have them |

I don't live near a beach , l have to travel a small bit , the ideal situation for me would be a beach & a mountain close to each other |

I’d say yes I’d love to live on the coast, to watch the storms rolling in, summer beach days without the endless drives, the smell of the sea. And great seafood
I’d probably pick north Devon if I had the choice. Around Braunton or Woolacombe or Ilfracombe |

Even better, head further up to Northumberland for miles of unspoilt, pristine sandy beaches, dotted with castles, a petrified forest and even a couple of naturist beaches. |

Why? Clean fresh air, expansive views, with a sea view everyday is different, unique wildlife, inspiration to imagine beyond the horizon, dream of travelling, imagination of sea history, appreciate the awesome power of nature, the wonder that since the earth has been in orbit around the sun and the moon around the earth that there have been 2 low tides and 2 high tides every day, a sun rise at sea is nature's way of creating a brand new day that has never happened before, another gift of life and opportunity. |

Aside from the plentiful supply of seagull shit of course.....
And the annoying tourists (why they come here is a mystery to me), the mess they leave and the traffic.
And the nearby nuclear power station.
It's nice being a short drive from the beach though.

Live in a little coastal village called Lossiemouth, lovely beaches, places to eat and good place to live.
Big RAF camp right next to it, cold in winter and packed with tourists from April till October |

We don't mind the tourists too much, certain parts of Hastings are among the top 2% of families living in poverty so the money tourists bring into the area is welcome. Although a minority are rude, entitled, messy and seem to think the locals should keep out of their way and allow their kids to run riot. |

Also if you aren't used to the sea only go in the water on beaches with life guards, find out about tides and currents, don't let anyone in the water on or in an inflatable unless you know it's safe, take your bloomin rubbish home with you and don't use those disposable barbecues then just cover them up with sand or stones.

I hate it when I see people leaving their rubbish on the beach or anywhere to be fair. Mind you, what do you expect when you even see people even throwing stuff out of their cars on to the streets and even motorways. Have a lovely time on the beach, take a rubbish bag with you, put all your rubbish in the bag and take back to dispose approppriately. Not difficult is it? |

I live near the coast on the Thames, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
During the summer our roads are clogged up, our beaches get tons of rubbish left behind and not placed into bins and to top it off, constant fights.
Can’t wait to leave here. |

When I finally retire it will be to the coast. I would choose Cornwall but my kids are in Kent so it will probably be Hastings, maybe Rye. I like coastal walks and being near the sea. Occasionally on it.. |

Go for it. Worthing is great. Not too commercial but things going on specially in Summer. If you like classic cars, July 30th is a custom/U.S. car show. |

" it does nark me off when people leave rubbish on the beach you brought it you take it away the down side is you go to some places and there is a lack of bins and that means people dump rubbish too and if that is the case take your rubbish home or at least to the first public bin that you see and keep Britain tidy. |
