Unfortunately I live near a busy road. I expect traffic noise especially in summer with windows open.

The thing I struggle with is why do the morons have to tune their fiesta so it pops and farts down the road like a banshee. The same with the scooter mafia, you’d think that had 1000cc bikes the way the screw the engine.

I just don’t see the point, we can all see it’s a fiesta or 125cc scooter.

I get less noise from the artics that go by.

I live on a main road and agree, ordinary traffic noise I just don't hear but as you say the knob heads who fit stupid things to their exhaust so it farts and bangs is terribly annoying and the damage they are doing to their engines the idiots don't realise. And as for the reckless fools on two wheels (sometimes one) who go past my home well over the ton, for sure there will be a major crash one day, and a life or more will be lost!

The op has a problem with the mopeds and souped up shopper carts being to noisy and not fast enough.

You seem to object to them going too fast!

Come on which is it?

Many single guys in our local updates are quite noisy about having the 'The Horn'. But I think that might be something different!

I do wonder what Chav Racers will do for noise, when the electric car phases out the internal combustion engine?

I’ve own a v8 supercharged Jag, it doesn’t do pops and bangs. Kid on our street has a 1.2 fiesta that pops and bangs, he thinks it’s great everyone else hates it!!!! It sounds horrid!

Have been hearing an annoyingly loud motorcycle noise for a few weeks from what I knew would be a small bike. I saw it the other day as it overtook me in a spectacularly stupid fashion. The noise is annoying but, judging from what I saw, I don't expect it to be a problem for long as he's likely to kill himself soon. Darwin is looking for him I think

What about those of us with loud cars that *are* loud for good reason? Is that okay? Or just as bad?

It's pollution for the sake of it. It's an open goal to legislate out of existence. Any party introducing legislation to outlaw the practice would lose zero votes.

" I do wonder what Chav Racers will do for noise, when the electric car phases out the internal combustion engine?"

I initially wondered about this. But when you consider it’s only new combustion cars that can’t be sold after 2030 (have I got the year correct?) it means they can still get hold of a 20 year old shagged out piece of shit in 2049.

I expect that, because of the way the car market will have gone, after market adaptations will be even more rife by then.

It’ll be a ‘fuck you’ to the establishment by all the people who can and want to trick up their cars. I’ll have died of despair by then haha

Where I live I don't mind it so much. It's a sign of summer. Harleys,Muscle cars, and rice burners. It's a Welcoming sound after silence all winter.

I know, right.

Anyone would think it was two different people posting, with different disgruntled comments.

I am not against the vehicle matching the sound. A Harley should burble along, a M3 pops, a Getzer should sound like its arse is on fire.

It’s the fuckwits who buy a shopping car and tune the engine and put pipes on it and think they have a hyper car. Or the moped mafia cutting silencers off.

The sound of a vehicle should match what the vehicle is.

It’s like me saying I have the body of a Greek gos and a face like Brad Pitt. Then I turn up average Jo grey hair dad bod

I have a few cars that are loud but none of then pop n bang like the fartbox brigade. real cars don't need to do that to produce power. unfortunately the fartbox boys can't build cars so they have to buy things make other people look its just the latest craze hopefully it will go out of fashion

You can report them online.

I got pissed off with a lical idiot in his car, as he went out anytime day or night rrvving his engine. I kept reporting them online, after a couple of times he was forced to swap it for a road legal version. You will need the rrg plate
