Yes if she is around it's a quick bye. I don't hang around. we have other special moments spread throughout the day/night. Like sleeping on my chest 10cm away from my face purring happily. Thanks. I'm about to pee myself.

Yep. Usually early morning when we're on the way to see other pets, who we'll then say goodbye to as we return to the aforementioned pets, before doing the same thing again in the evening.
A
*they all get a 'good morning' and good night' too. Even the fish. |

I tend to put a fairly calm podcast on to keep him happy when I go out.
There used to be an excellent one called "My dog's favourite podcast" but they only did 2 episodes so even played back to back you only get a few hours cover. |

Has to be done, along with the explanation and a request that he behaves.
That and goodbye to Alexa, she's pretty good, replies back and goes round and makes sure I've switched everything off before I depart and if the hound grumbles, plays music for him and let's me know.
They're well behaved though, never any damage or mishaps and always pleased to see me when I get home. |

I always tell my dog that I'm going out, and to look after the cat and make sure he doesn't get up to mischief.
Then I make sure I tell the cat that I realise he's actually in charge, and I'm counting on him to keep an eye on the dog, because she's a bit of a ditz.

"No. Because they are too busy with their enrichment toy and treats.
I don't want to distract them and kick off a separation anxiety ritual. "
More this at ours, but I fuss them for not destroying my house while I was out, when I return! |

Before heading out, friends of mine ask their adorable hound what radio station he’d like to listen to and raise the blind at his favourite window so he can see out.
It’s either Absolute 80’s or Radio 2 before you ask. |

I use to have full on conversations with my dogs. My Staffy is a Daddies girl, she always sat in my seat if I got up or waited by the front door if I went out.
Fuck I miss my dogs

I always choose one of our cats and ask it to be in charge while we are out. They look back at me as if I'm some sort of twat and give zero shits about looking after the house. |

Mine was put to sleep on Tues. They are such big characters it's hard not to miss them, I still have a wee one at home thankfully

I have a parrot so either he notices I am heading out and says "See you later", "Good Bye!"
or I do.
Just to add.. the dogs and cats don't really notice.
And a wild roaming Peacock who seems to think we're a food bank always hangs around around breakfast time and back to an evening meal. |

The dog gets told where I'm going and how long I'll be.
The fish don't though, they really don't give a shit so I'm not wasting my time telling them what I'm up to. |

No I don't and I feel a little guilty now. I usually say goodnight to the hamster as I turn a light off before I go up as he's usually sat in full view staring at me when I do it. |
