If you had one rock based playlist to last you a lifetime name a couple of tracks you just couldn’t live without.
Think of all those epic riffs, undeniable vocals, ludicrously good guitar solos!
I’m co-hosting a rock and metal club night in Leeds at the end of July and after hours of rocking out, thinking about the absolute necessities for THE ultimate rock playlist I still find songs shifting throughout the ranks.
Let’s hear what your mega playlist would consist of! |

Oh gosh, very difficult! It would be a very long list!
I tend to lean in the prog direction (mostly) so I'd have to include Rush as my favourite ever band, plus Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson.
On the rock/metal side of things I'd go for some Metallica, Tool, Dream Theater, Aerosmith, Van Halen, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters. |

Jinjer-Pisces
Metallica-Orion
Gojira-any song, really
Mastodon-Jaguar God
Arcturus-Game Over
Just a couple of the ones I am listening more often recently, there's tons more.
So much amazing music, so little time to sit down and listen to it properly |

Goldfinger? It is a good version, though I think they do plenty of decent songs of their own. |

"Muse

Royal Blood
The Cult (I know, I Know)
GnR
AC/DC
Queen."
Royal blood doesn’t get attention often… lights out probably takes it for my favourite of theirs, but it’s marginal. |

The amount of times I've read a comment on this thread and either said "tuneee" or "not heard that in ages!" followed by a mooch on Spotify just shows why rock is such a damn good genre
