I think mine has just kicked in.

Just saw the trailer for the new Barbie Movie, being released next month.

Now I; a middle-aged man, am seriously considering going to the cinema to watch it!

Offer to take your nieces , then it won't look like you are going to see it yourself

I've been planning mine and dipping my toe into it for a while. I'm embracing it and using it as an excuse /permission for all sorts.

Enjoy the film

That's an intense looking film! A bit like 'The Immigration Game' with Benedict Cumberbatch...

Wake up

Black coffee and a cigarette

Oppenheimer around 11am

mimosas and brunch

Barbie around 6/7pm

Dinner, drinks, club

It'll be an emotional day that's for sure.

As per MsWyld, I see an ongoing midlife crisis more as an opportunity than a problem. Partly hence being here! But if midlife crisis means doing what gives you joy and not caring what other people think - even if it involves Barbie movies - then long may it continue.

Which reminds me I also need to get a new bike..

Nothing wrong with that Governor maybe it’s bringing back childhood nostalgia. Go enjoy the film I still watch SpongeBob SquarePants and find myself laughing lol

Is there an outfit change required?

I wonder whether Margot Robbie will have another costume which will dominate fancy dress parties - like her Harley Quinn character?

Well said!! I guess midlife gives you more opportunities than earlier as you try and establish yourself and stress over kids etc. So if you can, do! Live life to the full and enjoy all its possibilities ....even if you fall off now and again

i think i had an early onset midlife crisis starting in my late 30s. Went through chaos for a few years and now it's no longer a crisis.

Get back to us with a movie review.

Thankfully I haven’t had a midlife crisis yet so I’m taking that to mean I’m not at middle age yet. Anyone who thinks I’m a grumpy old bugger now, just wait!

Hmmm… I ordered a 911 at the weekend. Could be a mid-life crisis, but it must have kicked in early as I’ve always had one sine I was 22.

I think there's a window from ages 37 to 59. So it's really how many you can squeeze in.

Ta.

Definitely not going to take the old dirt jump bike to the skate park at work.

Or get myself to Bike Park Wales.

Or look at the Mega Avalanche.

Nope.

That's a sensible thing, a mid life crisis would be buying a diesel guzzling sports car.

Does having a classic convertible count having the roof down while blasting out 90's dance?

Seems more like inspiration for a Ed Sheeran song... #Driving at 90 down those country lanes. Singing to "Tiny Dancer"

I don’t think I’m suited to midlife crises.

I’m not bothered about cars or motorbikes. I’m not particularly active so unlikely to do anything dangerous, too comfortable and dependent to move out.

Ahh mee.

Embrace it. I went whole hog and got a convertible sports car - was completely impractical, the dog (greyhound rather than term of endearment for an ex) couldn't fit in it, was a bit uncomfortable, the roof leaked...

1 year of that then grew up and sold it.

Worth doing though

I've always wondered how people who have a mid life crisis know when they're halfway through their life?

Pretty sure I had mine at 25, so.....

That's a good point, maybe I had one early 20s - embracing hedonism like a long lost lover! So time may be running out!

But then I cleaned up my act so could have given myself both the opportunity for another MLC and delayed the grim reaper.

Or you've already had it and just didn't realise.

By the time I can afford the usual mid life crisis stereotypes I'll be well beyond mid life.

Probably get a year or two's enjoyment out of the stupid, impractical convertible at best.
