Ok so I am at home today, which is a bloody good job!! I was watching tv in the bedroom, there's a knock at the door! I go and see who it is to be welcomed by some scum bag forcing my front room window open!!!
Attempted burglary in broad daylight,
Thing is we are on a busy sea front road and only a few meters from the local police station!!
Very shook up and a scared now!!
The police were really good and I hope they catch them |

Hope you're okay Lucy xx my front door was forced open last year when I and the kids were in bed. Luckily they were loud enough to wake the dog up and he scared them off luckily they didn't get away with much. It's awful knowing someone had been in my house and took my stuff that I work hard for for them to go get their next fix (sweeping generalisation I know but that's the main reason in my area) makes me sick. Thank you everyone, I am ok just very shocked, that someone would do this is broad daylight and we are not remote in anyway! We are on a very busy sea front road, and the police station is a few doors along!!
I am so glad I was in, couldn't begin to imagine what I would have come home to otherwise? |

Well the window has just been made secure until we can get a carpenter out to fix it properly!

We had a robbery in broad daylight 3 years ago and we are on a main road. We were out but came back to find them in the house, they ran off but we found they had left a kitchen knife in every room just in case they were caught. They ransacked the house and took some items that had great sentimental value. Im glad you are ok though and know how much of a shock it is. Big hugs xxx |

That's just terrible, they had a spade with them, this is what they used to lever the window open! I am just glad they ran off and didn't decide to attack with me it!

Been there myself and its not good!
I used to sleep with a baseball bat in the bedroom but after being burgled was advised by a local copper to buy a fuck off huge mag lite torch - as I could use that with the excuse of self defence more convincingly!!
Big hugs and I'd advise getting some heavy duty window locks and maybe an alarm - dirt cheap from homebase with window sensors!! Xx |

The carpenter is going to fit heavy duty locks onto our windows when he comes to fix the frame properly,

Don't get scared, get strong. I stood in my back garden and screamed all the obscenities I could, cursing them, roaring madly like some strong mama animal. Got down to the sea front and shout in the wind! |

During the day it is called house breaking. I know one housing estate that is rife with it. The thieves know that most inhabitants are at work during the day  |

While back I did some delivery work in a van around housing estates, you wouldn't believe how deserted these places are.
It takes a scumbag seconds to break in, hope they catch them .
