I used to see the forums as a vacuum and not take them seriously at all and could easily just bypass topics I didn't like. However, I've recently seen myself get sucked into serious debates that don't benefit me by engaging with people I'd never talk to real life.
I do take people's experiences seriously though and like to think I wouldn't make light of them |

I'm currently creating a serious scale for forum users.
It's starts at 1, with an Oscar Wilde's "Humanity takes itself too seriously. It is the world's original sin. If the cave-man had known how to laugh, History would have been different."
At 5 you have John McEnroe's "You cannot be serious".
And all the way up to 10 it ends with Thomas Szasz's "When a person can no longer laugh at himself, it is time for others to laugh at him".
