How many messages on average do guys send without a response?

Well it depends how many you actually send in the first place.
If you throw a message at any and every profile, the average is going to be extremely low, potentially higher chance to find somebody that may be interested in you. But your shots on target will be very low.
If you are extremely selective and pay attention to what each profile wants, so that you fit that. Then chances it being on target are higher, but your total shots lower. |

It shouldn't be a question of how many.
One to the right profile may be enough.
Hundreds to people you're not compatible with will yield no results.
I've this week had to block several people who have sent repeat messages asking to meet, contrary to all the advice on our profile, who've ignore the fact we haven't responded to previous messages.
It's not, and never has been, a numbers game. If you think it is then you're in the wrong place.

I send hardly any maybe 1-2 a month and they nearly always get a reply.
Before sending I ask myself, so I really (really) like this person, is she something else?
Do I want to meet her enough to move things around, travel at some hassle/cost etc
If the answers no, I think it’s best not to start a conversation. |

I'll read someone's profile, try and craft a message accordingly. And 99% of the time I don't get a reply.
If they don't reply, I don't send another. If someone can't be bother to send a "no ta, not my type" or anything like that, just think it shows their character. |

Aside from the reciprocal and synchronous messages between friends and forumites, I've only sent two messages in the last two years. My engagements and meets have been the fruition of women sending the first message to me. They rarely send repeat messages. I probably wouldn't either. |

I think I have sent less than 20 since being on here.
Read the profile, no matter how hot the photos look or the videos are, if I am not what that person or persons is or are looking for it seems a waste of my time and theirs to send a message.
Occasionally I will get a reply, mostly not but I would never send a follow up message demanding to know why my last message wasn't relied to!
For a brief time I did have a couples profile and God it was hard fire fighting pointless messages! |

Agreed, and I am on the same page.
I only ever send a message to someone who genuinely raises my interest but, like you, I rarely receive a reply even though they have read the message.
As you say, a polite no thank you wouldn’t go a miss sometimes  |

Just putting my two pence in as my filters allow men to message but I don't meet or play with them.
Probably around 60% get a reply from me, it all depends on the first message. Most of the time their decent messages with context and would be something they say to me in the street or I'm just replying for the batnter  either way it works for me and in some way I hope I'm doing some good for fab itself, being sociable to those that make fab a better place |

All depends if you are a sniper or a stormtrooper.
The latter couldn't hit a barn door while the former is more selective in his targets.
I haven't sent a single first contact message in 3½ years so every conversation since has been started by someone else.
Does that make me a jedi? |

I'd not send many messages. Would do so only if I felt I met the criteria stated on the profile. I'd get a reply 80-90% of the time even if only to say thanks but not interested. |

I've just looked at my stats.
24 messages to new people since May. 9 replies.
That average was pulled down massively by a splurge of quick fire massagea on coronation day, that had maybe a 1 in 4 success.
More personal ones at about 1 in 2. Possibly a bit higher.

I only send a response about something they have on the profile...or status..or something they have said on the forums, l don't really send asking to meet , maybe if they're interested they will send one also. |

I tried to reply to everyone the first hour I joined and within that time, I had over 200 messages....I can only see so many as I'm not a site supporter. If I don't think it's a fit, I can't possibly reply to everyone telling them that. So as suggested by the admin, I just block that person so I'm not wasting either of our times. It must suck for a guy at times on here. But I've literally got over 1000 unread messages. It's a good problem for me but the no reply thing is not out of disrespect or anything. It's simply a question of time.... It's definitely not personal. |

I get more replies than not, but I don't message every single profile I find attractive.
It's easy for a message to get lost amongst others so I send one and see what happens and I've had replies that have been days, weeks and months after I sent a message. |

When I had my single account they nearly always got a reply. Probably because I was polite, jovial, I read their profile and talking about stuff (mostly nothing to do with sex) which was interesting. Oh and I NEVER sent a dick pic! EVER!

I wasn’t aware that, if your not a site supporter, you only get to see an amount of received messages and not all of them

When I was a single guy on here I only messaged profiles that intrigued me and after reading their profile thought we might be compatible.
I made a few connections and 2 weeks in I sent a message to C and we got chatting.
What makes a difference in whether you get a reply is having a good profile that sells you as a person as well as a sex god and also being respectful too.
It’s also luck too - C had a local guy leaving her stable and wanted a replacement - my message was right timing but it was also tailored to C as women get hundreds of messages and you’ve got to stand out. She had a few hundred to choose from that day and choose me because I made an effort with my message.

I reckon it's about 1 in 20 of my messages that get a reply. That said, 15 in 20 of my messages don't even get read.
Either my profile is *really* terrible, or the vast majority of my messages are lost under 500 "FAF?" one-liners and are never seen at all. |
