No , I was seeking opinions on AI and how much people know or are engaged with it. Does it worry you or excite you? As far as I am concerned, the jurry is still out. Used appropriately and with regulation and controls could help find solutions in a range of important fields. Used,as saddly seems to be the case at the moment in it's rapid and uncontrolled manner, can change society and accepted norms irretrievably and not in a good way.

However, it's not realy something I should have posted a thread on as a bit 'high brow' and I usually prefer the 'low brow' posts on breakfast, cake, chocolate and what's for dinner so lets archive this one unless someone feels particularly keen to share their informed opinions

It would be nice to think that law makers would have learned some lesson from the recent past but I think it will be a horse and stable door affair.

Is it going to change things? For sure. In the short term it's a definite threat to google, I think it will made the current search engine obsolete. Google makes ££ selling ads so they have to be concerned

With regard to other areas I do think it will start changing industries and employment. I think nvidia are already seeing their future in providing ai for military purposes.

I don’t think I have any. I’m not hip when it comes to technology.

Unless you count Siri on my phone?

Photos and deep fakes are only a part of it ai. How will you know? You probably won't. We've already seen how misinformation get sent on social media. Wait until the deep fake videos start appearing.

I'm assuming its the one with him in handcuffs, the guy who is responsible for that wasn't trying to fool people but it did. It blew up on twitter for a weekend.

A lot are going to be blindsided by this sort of stuff. You will not know what to believe

AI is easily abused as it is. No amount of regulation or control will stop the abuse it allows. It's only going to snowball and become more advanced, both in ways for the better and worse.

You can't put it back in the box.

Not really. People already read the daily mail they will have just have more of the same.

Everyone has a choice to stare at shit on a screen or do meaningful things with those lives instead.

I haven’t seen fake pope, fake trump , it doesn’t interest me
