...you hit the block button - would you still use it?
It's our favourite tool and site feature, but given the frequency it's used it would end up being quite expensive for us.
Would you carry on as you currently do or reevaluate your methodology and reserve it only for those where it seems a dedinite necessity rather than just useful?

I never proactively block - I only ever use it to counter block people I notice who have blocked me (and the list is growing!!) so I’d happily not bother and let THEM pay! |

I don't block.
If I don't want to see someone around here, I'll send them a six paragraph message of things that are currently bemusing me.
And holy cats, can I paragraph. Fab is like free therapy for me, just without all the Gabriel Byrne roleplay shagging.

I only used to block the irredeemable.
I've been a lot more free with the block button the past few months, and my time here has been greatly improved since I started doing that.
Be ruthless with those block buttons people |

This is how we see and use it. It's not an insult. It's 9 times out of 10 nothing personal and most of the time there's been zero engagement at all between us and the profile we're blocking.
It just cuts down on admin dealing with messages from people who can't read the hints in our profile, saves time when browsing because people we'll never be interested in for whatever reason (nothing wrong with them at all as individuals - just not for us) will never come up in a subsequent search and once in a blue moon someone will say something, post a photo or express an opinion that makes my brain hurt and my eyes require some bleach and I'll lunge for that trusty block button.
Thanks fuck it's free and long may it remain so.

We only use it when someone is rude or is just incessantly messaging.
I do agree that we should block a lot more as they aren’t going to be for us but as quick as you block, there’ll be a thousand more so delete messages without reading if we can see they aren’t compatible works well

I don't block very often anymore. I use to before but now can't be bothered unless I really feel like it's someone I really don't have anything in common with.
Tight filters help with most issues on here I find. |

"I rarely block anyone anymore, they’ve got to have really pissed me off enough before I can be bothered to"
What about the repeat messagers?
I now block so they don't keep messaging me,or forget I said no thank you. |

Oh gosh, I’d have to completely revise my approach! If there was a higher level of membership supporter which included a blocking package I’d subscribe to that in this scenario! Block is SO useful |

"If it's 1p per block.
If it was £1 per block I'd filter the fuck out of my profile and lock it down.
Or leave.
"
I think you have the necessary barriers in place! |
