Is that the classic encona or the extra hot?
Turtle Bay do a really nice one called aunt mays hot bajan pepper sauce, that's a really nice flavour.
The hottest I've had is probably Daves Gourmet Insanity Sauce |

My favourite is a green chilli sauce served up by an Afrocaribbean caterer at Womad. I've tried buying it but the brands I've tried just aren't the same.
My second favourite (and more easily found!) is Laoganma chilli oil with peanuts. I love it just with noodles or egg fried rice. |

It made my eyes bleed.
*it didn’t, but I think I cried fire once. "
Yep. I'll go through a bottle of most off the shelf stuff in no time. That bottle of Daves too quite a while. I got through it eventually though.
I once had a bbq ant the bottle accidentally made its way onto the table with all the other sauces. I caught one of my mates reading the label. I quickly stepped in to warn him that it was pretty hot stuff and only a drop was enough.
He looked up at me, eyes steaming, face bright red. Struggling to breathe he managed to say... I wish you'd said that before I blathered my burger in it! |

Hahaha. poor guy.
I only use it in my beef chilli. And I only use 1/2 tsp. It gives me that heat that builds. It’s brilliant, but damn, use with caution. |

I have no idea what it was that I got from Brighton cili shop, but it scored a nice 30/10 on the heat scale.
It was perfect to adding to a chicken Phal, that I used to have for breakfast when I was on an early shift. |

"I love abit of hot sauce.
My go to sauce is Encona Hot Sauce.
Not too hot, just right.
Also love the crispy shrimp chili oil on my noodles.
What is yours? "
Oo I do love an encona hot sauce. Encona makes some good sauces. I also like nandos, turtle Bay hot sauce and the hot sauce from the Turkish restaurant. |
