Yes I have the book, and visited Bran castle last year.
My ex and mother of my daughter is taking her to visit it in a couple of weeks.
She’s 4 and loves castles… (also thinks it’s hotel Transylvania)

I visited the castle in 2020 with my misses at the time .. always wanted to see it.. the man was a legend for ending the era of the Romanian boys being taken by the Turks each year for their army.. since that day they never returned to Romania they feared what they experienced |

You know the impaling was on a rounded post, they sat them on it and they slowly slid down it under their own weight?
Like really, really, really , really slowly dying from a big log up the poop chute? ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

Yeah that's one percent of his given name
What is his full given name ?"
He was renowned for his blood thirsty unmatched art of battle in war as he fought for the Turks as a young man .. Vlad the impaler is a small part of his victory it was a warning for the rest of the turks.. he did all this for his wife and son |

I've spent a lot of time in Romania and the first time I went there I was shocked by the genuine fear and acknowledgment of a dark presence or history of their land .. they don't joke about Vlad or his stories.. when babies are born they cannot leave the hospital without a red band with a prayer on their wrist until they are christened.. behind every folklore there is an element of truth |

"I met Vlad the Impala when I went to Kenya once.
How did he taste? Did you meet him at carnivorous?
I didn't eat him. He seemed quite sweet.
Great story "
Oh it didn't end there. |

"I met Vlad the Impala when I went to Kenya once.
I bet he had impressively long horns"
He did. They looked most dangerous.
Like skewer type things. Like he could perforate you with them.
Sorry - I can't quite seem to describe it in one word. |

He loves taking long walk in the country but was he called Vlad the hiker? No! He was an accomplished guitarist but was he called Vlad the musician? No! Did he have a nice healthy glow or does he tend to stay out of the sun? |

NBCnews estimates 80,000
"
And he did them all himself? Gosh he was busy! I’m guessing it must take a good 15 minutes to do one properly, so only 4 an hour, working a 9 hour day, that’s 36 a day with no lunch break, 180 a week, allowing for 4 weeks holiday a year (I wonder where he liked to go to relax), so 8,640 a year. That’s a solid 9 years work then! |

Ah ok, changed direction but wanted to keep the name. Makes sense. |

The ottomans very good as warriors and empire building. They were reasonable until they weren't. The janissaries for them, was a great idea.
If you were going stop them then I suppose you needed to make the cost too high. |

I’m a Romanian and the baby shite is none sense. Tradition is part of people’s heritage however the red band is not something a legal authority would impose. Maybe in the more rural areas the tradition about the dark creatures is strong. Also Vlad was called Dracul because he was as bad as Dracul (devil in translation) interesting facts you know, however the red ribbon is everyone’s choice, and not practiced very often. |
