Anybody else only ever remember that it's bin day at 1 am? And end up wheeling the bins out when all you've got on is a shortie nightgown and knickers?

Fortunately nobody much walking past on the road this time.

Not in that atire but I always forget about them. Sometimes till I hear the truck in the morning when it's too late or might just about make it. Usually somehow remember when I look out of the window and see others have taken them out

The butler normally takes them out, but if he is on holiday the chauffeur takes them, if he’s out getting the Bentley cleaned then the gamekeeper will do it.

My neighbour put their bin out last night at teatime, which tipped me over the edge with panic - our bins don't get emptied until Wed I'll be on high alert listening for the bin men in case they are coming a day early

Since lockdown my life has revolved around bin day. It’s the only day of the week I truly know what day it is. The happy trundle of my neighbours wheelie bins down their drives reminds me I’m human.

I'm the bin patrol person of our street. They all wait for mine to go out, but they put theres out.

Mind you, confusses them, as I have a big and little 'little waste' bin. Then every other week its big recycling bin. Highlight of my week is bin day. Must put thrm out before I leave for work today.

Welcome to Fabvale.

Today is Bin Day. All citizens should run for their lives! The Bin Men are coming, and they will remove anything not secured. This includes pets, small children, and anyone caught outdoors. So, draw your curtains; lock your doors; cower quietly in a dark part of the house until they're gone. Because Today is Bin Day. And everyone should be very afraid!

I'm your host, Davina, recording this from under my desk as the ominous sound of clattering bins resonates from outside the studio...

The one I really do not want to miss is next week, which is bottle bin day. It only happens once a month, and I forgot for the last two months. It now looks like I'm an alcoholic as the bin is full to overflowing with beer and wine bottles. Dreading anyone thinking that I got through that lot in just one month!

Stick a massive glass dildo on top and no-one will see the bottles.

Luckily all the bins go into the big bin at the end of the road so no need to remember. I always remember it's recycling when the recycling guys do their best to break every recycling bin on the road and anything else they can while they're at it.

Ah, but are glass dildos recyclable? If it's not got the recycling mark it might be the wrong sort of glass!

I had a nightmare this week.

On getting home from picking my boy up from school this week, I remembered it was bin day the follwoing day, so gathered one lot of recycling bags and put them in front of my garage, ready to move up to the kerbside later that evening and then completely forgot about it until the following morning when I could hear the bin lorry.

Oh well, they'll have to wait until next week now

Finding the bins wherever they have left them after emptying is a task in itself. I am tempted to leave a little note on them to say 'Please put me back where you gound me. Leaving me in the middle of the street is dangerous and in front of other people's houses rather impolite' but not sure it will go down well

I tend to agree with uou though kind of sad that these things don't get challenged and sadder that take happen in the first place

The Fabvale Administration have strongly suggested that nothing be done to draw the further attention of the Bin Men on Bin Day. They strongly suggest that citizens remain indoors and allow the Bin Men to complete their... tasks... uninterrupted. Mrs. Scoggins of 7 Greatoldones Way left a note for the Bin Men in 1978. Greatoldones Way and all its residents have not been mentioned, or seen, since. Citizens minded to resist the Administration's strong suggestions should be aware that these may be enforced by a visit from the Webmaster's Secret Police.

Remember. Remain indoors on Bin Day.

I love Armstrong and Miller's bin day sketches (the orgy one is particularly apt). I tend not to forget bin day, but may be putting the bins out at 1.00am as per you OP (our recycling bin tends to be collected by 6.00, though refuse is much later).

I love bin day and this week is the special week where we also have Green Bin day on Saturday - oh the ecstacy (honestly on a par with an orgasm)

I often forget the recycling, which the council made an abomination this year, by adding folding box type things, as well as the original bins

I often race down when I hear the engine
