Go to an army surplus shop and buy a cheap pair of army issue boots and thick socks. Start going for runs in them to get your feet used to the punishment. If you're used to wearing nothing but soft shoes and trainers then the training regime you'll be dropped into will wreck your feet otherwise.
Toughen them up beforehand and you'll get the worst of the blisters out of the way beforehand, as you don't want them when you have to face a 20 mile tab in full kit. Good luck.
I didn't always dress up in women's clothes btw! |

Do as Justj0die said & buy some webbing (steady) too, fill it with about 35-50 lbs of sand or small stones see where it chafs when your running, then you'll know how to fix it asap when you go in & take lube for chaffing inner thigh & underarm & nipples. |

Just being for wont do it for you, mental robustness is what you need along with being physically fit, don't run with any weight before you go, you'll get broken in gently once your there
Also instead of Vaseline for inner thigh chaffing get some cycling shorts
Get some 5cm zinc oxide tape if you do make it to training, will be a savior when it comes to prove ring blisters
Mostly though you have to have mental strength without it you will not pass |

If you weren't aware by now what you were letting yourself in for maybe you haven't done your homework. And if your question was more designed to illicit responses (which it has) from women who might be impressed by the thought of you in the uniform then I would seriously consider if it is the right career choice for you. I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling you have not thought through what you are potentially getting into and whether you are doing it for the right reasons. So do please think really carefully, do some serious homework and make an informed choice which is right for you. Good luck. |

good advice..
get yourself out there and start putting the miles in, it will get tedious and maybe a bit boring but its only once you start to push yourself physicall will you also test yourself mentally..
they will as other's have said try and get into your head, dont try and take them on.. they have been there and will chew you up..
known guys to pass and then get back coursed for bad attitude, they are watching you all the time and if your not a team player they will find out..
they will push you further than you ever thought you could go, but they will do so knowing you still have a bit left..
they will fuck you about but always remember they cant make you pregnant..
get your head right and your physical prep sorted and good luck.. |

The first bit is always the worst. They will be right bastards at times to you all but they only do it so everyone has something in common ( hating the instructors) as this helps everyone bond and gives them all something to talk about.

Boots.....buy your own and wear them as often as you possibly can, particularly wear them walking up stairs and up and down slopes.
Train....Make yourself train every day for the months before your training course begins, stamina is king. |

Go and have a word with your Mum. The word is "Mum, any ironing you need doing from now til I join up I'll do it for you, and Mum if you spot one crease or anything out of place in the laundry, please give it striaght back to me so I can do it again. In addition can you please check my bedroom at any time of your choice and if anything is out of place or my clothes aren't folded and in the correct layout or you spot any dust anywhere, please immediatly cancel any plans I have for the next week. Finally Mum, can I polish the whole families shoes until they shine.

Meet friends for life and job that's is as challenging and hardwork as it is rewarding.
Like stated before get some boots get walking/running find where it hurts and sort it, little bit of runners lube for inner thighs and arms, rest is head down and "suck it up princess" |

Obviously you need to be extremely fit bodily but I find that most of its mental fitness. Sleep depravation is a big part too. Being pushed and pushed and then pushed that bit more. Try not to question what they ask you to do,just do it
Dont try to impress too much,stay in the middle never the front and definitely not the back. Make lots of friends but dont get too deep. Friends will help you when youre feeling lower than a snakes belly. Most of all enjoy it it'll get easier when youve passed the bullshit stage |

I was only trying to point out that joining the armed forces needs thinking about, especially when so many of our troops are dying in various regions of the world. It is not something to be entered into lightly or without a reasonable understanding of what lies ahead. If my son were considering it I would want him to meet current and ex servicemen to get a real understanding of what the training and then the front line is really like.
As I said earlier I wish the gentleman every good luck and hope he weighs up all the pros and cons before jumping in. |

make sure you can lift your own body weight as in pull ups fore and backhand grips on the bar. You will need to be able to carry out at least 20 reps with both grips. |

Just remember to do as little as possible. When everyone else is up half the night ironing and flapping about inspections. Just get your head down and sleep. You will get fucked no matter what you do but it's easier getting fucked when you've slept. The phys isn't as bad as you think as it's progressive training. It's not as bad or hard as you'll be making it out in you're head. Enjoy it and have a laugh. Don't take any of the bullshit to seriously as its just a game of breaking you down and rebuilding. Good luck |
