Apparently we as a nation do not complain enough and when we do, we do not do so effectively. We accept lower standards and particularly poor customer service. When was the last time you complained about something and how did you get on? |

I complain pretty much every minute of my life. And I’m getting on alright. I mean I’m in constant pain and constantly exhausted and I’m fat as fuck with squint teeth…but can’t complain |

Not so much complained, but gave feedback. It was to my bank. I used one of the self service wheelchair height machines inside the bank but it hadn't been calibrated to be used at a seated height and it wouldn't recognise my finger unless I went in from above. That's because it was calibrated by someone standing up. So I suggested they recalibrate it. |

Oh I'm the GOAT at complaints. Probably because I used to have to manage incoming ones in an old job, but I know all the tricks to get compensation, cut corners and get through to someone who can sort things out.
Woe betide anyone that fucks me about. A certain courier company are currently in the firing line.

"In February, our meal in a restaurant wasn't up to scratch. I discreetly mentioned it to the waitress and she offered us alternatives, we settled on complimentary drinks.
"
You see I like that. Things can go wrong sometimes and it's all fine if people accept it and try to make amends. I would certainly go back then as long as those standards had not ern permanently lowered |

Royal Mail and Amazon. RM were like ya we hear you, sorry and go fuck yourself.
Amazon sounded better, like way better but didn't actually do anything.
Wiggle (bike shop) was surprisingly brilliant. |

The last time I went to the hairdressers my haircut was so bad at the end I kept telling myself to say something. When she asked if I was happy with it, I smiled, said that I loved it then went home and cried . I rarely complain about anything because I hate the feeling of being embarrassed if they start to get confrontational. |

Maybe dodge the question when asked in person and then complain over the phone? |

I think it's the British culture of having a stiff upper lip and the whole "keep calm and carry on" nonsense. It means we accept mediocrity because we think it's rude to inconvenience others even if they're in the wrong.
I'm a little tolerant of it now but still don't really complain but say what the issue is and see what can be done to resolve it. |

Depends on the situation but often customer service is lip service, they go through the motions and will do the same again. |

I had a bad haircut once about fifteen years ago. I kept quiet at the time then I was so mad with myself I went back to the salon and asked them to put it right, which they did. I was all nervous but they were very nice and apologetic.
