This has probably been suggested before and yes should probably be put in feedback forum but thought i would see what people thought first ??
On other forums i have visited at the top of each section are sticky threads, they are permanent threads that sit at the top of each section with important information concerning that section IE,
Site rules
Forum rules
Meeting etiquette
Pic rules etc etc
Perhaps this would be a good idea for FAB as a lot of the answers people are looking for can be posted in these threads as information for newbies etc ??
Also cuts down on posts in wrong sections, questions about rules etc ??
What do you all think ?? And yes im fully aware this should be in site feedback but wanted to get peoples opinions first lol |

"You would still have to rely on people reading them.

Yeh very true lol, but at least people could be directed to them also ?? Plus upon entering the forums they will see the sticky threads and hopefully read them first lol ? |

You could do it for all the 'repeat tpoics' that get people all fired up
No responses / BBW/BBM / Labels / Bi-Guys / Timewasters...etc.etc
Plus, the ultimate 'sticky' thread - bareback! |

I'm no computer whizz - but upon entering the title of a new thread could certain keywords not highlight recent similar threads - so if it was more of a question rather than a discussion people could be directed there?
I'm all for certain topics being repeated as these tend to be posted by newcomers to the forums - very healthy - and as well as the regulars who tend to post the same responses all the time you'll always get new responses/opinions from those new to the site.
Just because something's been posted before there's no reason it should be excluded, but it can get tedious if the same threads are populated by the same people all the time. |

Lol i hate tough titties lol !!! I am on another forum ( vanilla lol ) and they have sticky threads which work really well and are a mine of info
Also if threads become important or highly relevant they can then be made sticky or permanent threads which is also helpful too, for instance whilst the club re_iews are great a sticky thread in the swinging clubs section would allow _iews and opinions which would maybe keep the slagging off and personal remarks out of the club re_iews ?? Just a suggestion or example im not saying that would work but just a suggestion lol |

I agree. I am on other forums that use sticky's. there is a fine line though. If you have too many at the top of a section, they are a bloody nuisance. |

I dont use any other forum so have no experience. Not sure I can visualise it but will bow to the experience of others.
if it relies on people reading, absorbing the information and acting upon it... will be interesting.
But I think the first time someone posts a topic that may have been posted numerous times and they get a great reaction..... more will follow. People post to raise their profiles, increase chances of a shag and become KNOWN.
not knocking it so please don't think I am, just no experience where they have worked |

It will not effect or highlight in any way, threads that have already been covered.
They would just be threads that are permanently anchored at the top of each forum, detailing useful information, e.g. Forum rules etc. |

so for example if it was bareback, would there be a previous thread fixed there, with the OP and all the replies that were posted on that original thread but it is closed

I think that kind of subject would be more of a normal post, sticky threads should be kept to highly relevant and important information that concerns use of the site etc or relevant to that particular section ( swinging advise, swingers clubs, the lounge etc ) |

Forget anything about previous comments about subject content e,g. Bareback, bbw etc. that was a bit if a red herring.
Sticky threads are purely for threads containing useful info such as faq's, rules, guidelines etc. they are locked so users cannot add comments to them.
They appear at the start of each section so as to be always readily available. |

Well thinking of the cuff first would be general rules for that section ( IE no slagging off, racism or postingweblinks etc etc )
Perhaps explaining what the lounge is for IE General chit chat etc ? |

Actually, I don't think that it was a red herring. Those topics have been absolutely done to death in these forums and serve to generate little in the way of genuine useful discussion and just descend into chaos and bitterness.
The number of times people post 'Not this again' when they rear their heads.
So my comment was far from a 'red-herring' and I would thank you not to administer the 'hand-wavium' over them. |

I think what you are saying enhances the need for sticky threads, yes some subjects have been done to death as you say, but your forgetting the newbies and people just joining or entering the swinging lifestyle, at least they get a chance to be directed to sticky threads with useful info etc which may then cause no need to ask questions reagrding things previously discussed in length in the forums |

Please don't take offence it was meant as a red herring, in terms of the original purpose of the 'sticky' and was causing some confusion. |

When you post to a thread or a new topic, there is a link that takes you to the forum rules and don't this and that etc, I personally don't think it needs anything else.
Agreed but its more for the benefit of newbies etc as they may not be totally o fay with using the site

"You would still have to rely on people reading them.
But a up from me.
Yeh very true lol, but at least people could be directed to them also ?? Plus upon entering the forums they will see the sticky threads and hopefully read them first lol ?
Also, if they don't read something that is readily available. Tough titty.
ugh can't believe I used the titty word

Seperate FAQ category on the forum would be good. It could have topics like it's rude to reply with the answers as to why it isn't rude to no reply. It may save the same topics coming up over and over again in the forums. |
