So I saw a forum post about no deep and meaningful posts on the forum, I'm quite new here but I thought is try my hand at provoking one!
So here we go!
Me and the wife have a bit of a theory, and I want to put it to a wider audience, if you could describe your 'paradise' or perfect 'afterlife' or 'heaven' what would it be for you?
For me it looks something like Hawaii, all the people I know and love are there, there's no pain, lots of good food, good sex with lots of people... My wife has her own version, but similar , and you realise, that your own personal idea of heaven is just a beautiful life on earth....
Which is kind of what led us into this scene, but my question for the audience is,
1: what is your idea of paradise/heaven
2: is it possible on our earth?
3: do you think humanity will ever achieve this level of peaceful coexistence! |

I don't personally believe in an afterlife. But I agree that if I was to picture one it would be a beautiful place with the people and animals I love. But also space to escape from them sometimes
So definitely an incentive to make the most out of this life!

I saw Meli's comment too OP and was inspired to start a post to discover people's views on the ideal form of government which would negate decisiveness but popped into the politics forum to see people screaming and sniping at each other so didn't bother but to your point 3...no probably not achievable.
My view of paradise is simply people treating each other well and looking out for each other without looking for personal gain. Spread happiness, relax and be calm. We try to be like this but adding a beach and hammocks would be appreciated. |

The afterlife I don't really think I've ever thought about enough to make a decision about whether I believe if exists or not. If I did though I would like to think that the people I loved and care about would be there as well as all the animals that I've have had and lost over the years. It wouldn't be my idea of a happy afterlife if they weren't there.
Here on earth it depends on my mood and the company I am with.
