Also Churches. I break into cold sweats and feel like I am suffocating in them, then start babbling in some unknown language. They start throwing holy water at me, which burns. Seriously it's real horror show. Everyone is screaming. Just never take me to a church.

Haha, maybe they can be trained .... That would liven up my Daily Stand Up calls in work if a Spider popped the kettle on for me in the background!

Okay so with thunder it plays in part with my autism, when a thunderstorm kicks off I can’t predict how loud it’s going to be, how long or whether it’s moving away or getting nearer, because it doesn’t have a set pattern I can predict is the main cause although I’ve never liked loud noises unless it’s music which I can control

It's all in your head mate .. the one thing we truly have control over in this world is our state of mind.. the thing that made me get over it is the fact I couldn't stand being in fear of something

"fine dining..

I think mine is the reverse. I was taken to some "fancy" burger place in the US some years ago in Philly.

We were told to sit where we liked, a waitress took the orders, then it arrived in baskets. There was no cutlery I could see. Then people started shovelling in burgers, fries and god knows what else in to their mouths, like it was a feeding frenzy at the zoo.

They appeared chilled out and relaxed. I was raging inside. It was horrible.

It felt like all the rules and social niceties and the correct dining etiquette that establishes order and calm had been pulled out from under me.

Why did I go ? Well I was told it was "fancy". My mind jumped to the Ritz and I thought it might be an experience to remember. Oh it certainly was, but for all the wrong reasons.

So yes, I think my phobia is not dining formally.
