Yeah I met Jerome Flynn walking down University road in Belfast and he was walking the other way.

(I recognised his face instantly, but didn’t know who he was, thought ut was a guy I worked with abroad , the beard confused me , he was really cool had a chat for a few minutes and a selfie.)

He was there filming for GoT

Joanna Lumley and she’s a gorgeous person in real life.

Azeem Rafiq and he was also really lovely when I briefly asked for a selfie

And I met an actress from a Netflix series and made her dinner. She was very lovely.

A fair few. Some were very up themselves and egotistical but a few that were very down to earth, friendly, chatty and approachable include The King (although he wasn't then), Midge Ure, Eric Cantona, Simon Le Bon, Stefan Dennis and the nicest guy you could ever meet, Martin Clunes.

I met Ricky Wilson a long time ago JUST before the Keiser Chiefs - he bought me a drink in a pub and we talked about music (was an open mic night). If I had kept going to the pub (or if it was closer to me) I might have been the drummer for them...

Robert Lindsey - Was a nice guy - but don't expect him to be a natural at throwing a joke during a conversation.

I met the legendary Johnny Clegg (you'd have to be South African, or French to know who I'm talking about) when his band played our Student Union and I was on the organising committee. What a down to earth, genuine person. Fame never made him lose sight of his roots.

Just to tease some ladies here…..

Tom Cruise backstage at a film première. Top chap, funny, chatty and gives you his whole presence when you speak to him, even whilst others are trying to get his attention.

Robert Pattinson who sat beside me on a flight. Very friendly and open.

Both are just as handsome in person as their screen image.

Earl Louis Mountbatten, in 1977. One of those people who exude confidence and generosity - though if you're well off and titled, this often comes naturally. We were on a D of E hike and encountered him by chance. Naturally we were more interested in his wartime exploits, which were many, than anything else!

He's not a celebrity, he's a demigod.

To answer the OP, I've met quite a few celebrities. But there are two who'll always stand out to me. Neil Gaiman (because I cocked that up royally) and Pete Wicks because

he's the only person who has had me truly stumbling over my words like an absolute buffoon.

Lots of tv personalities, but the one we remember best is Big Narstie. We spent two days filming worth him and he's very much as you see him on tv - a really nice, larger than life character.

I’ve worked in the SFX industry for nearly 18 years. In 2018 I moved from live entertainment to tv&film. I was lucky enough to work on peaky Blinders VI. Everyone on the production was lovely. That said I did get chance to meet Tom Hardy and we had a brief conversation about victorian porn, and the “what the butler saw” machines.

Tom was really nice. What was most impressive about meeting him was seeing how fast he got into character.

I met David Bowie about 13 years ago at a concert I played, we were sitting at at a table at the after party, he joined us, stuck out his hand and said "Hi, I'm Dave". It was all I could do to not blurt out - "you're not Dave, you're David Bowie!" "Dave" seemed far too ordinary a name for him

Very nice guy though.

I met Shawn Michaels at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that). Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.” My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?” Then out of nowhere Shawn Michaels shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.” And I (being a big HBK fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.” Shawn was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to the snorkeling in the Galopagos, Shawn Michaels and I made glorious gay love to each other on six of the seven continents.
