"So how long have we all been eating horse must have been a while "
I don't mind, personally, as long as it's sold as horse. I like horse, I like beef and if they work well together that is fine. I just want to know what I am paying for. |

If you eat beef, pork, chicken etc but are moaning about horse meat, you're a dumbass. Why does it matter you've eaten horse? That's right, it doesn't.
Personally I'd try anything once.
I've eaten snails, alligator, ostrich, reindeer, snake, to name a few.
Be thankful you've not eaten polar bear. The meat is black and you have to sign a waver in case you get rabies.

I doubt its the fact that people have eaten horse meat, its the fact that they wer'nt aware they were eating it so did'nt have a choice, thats wrong, these are massive multi million pound companies that have a duty of responsibilty to their customers to know exactly where their food is sourced from and what it is they're selling and ensuring that its exactly what is says it is,if im buying an aberdeen angus beef burger I expect it to come from an aberdeen angus cow, thats my right as a customer |

Come on though, Tesco value burgers are as bad as bangers. Dunno if anyone else saw that show on ch4 where some guy saw the bangers being made. That was gross.
It'll be the same for the burgers |

It is only haram if they know they are eating pork as far as I am aware. The person who fed them pork without their knowledge has committed the sin.

"Horse meat is yummy i dont see what all the fuss is about.."
The fuss is that it was passed off as beef. If people knew, and were happy they were eating horse meat, no problem. It's the deception that is the real issue. Not the meat, per se. |

Well what do you expect from places like Mac d and Burger King and whoever else, as well as their suppliers.
Just imagine what is goin into the chicken nuggets people feed their kids!
Never eat that crap so as far as I am bothered I don't really care what people end up eating from those places. One things guaranteed though it makes you fat!

I assume you knew what you were eating though? It is actually against the law to pass off one product as another. For example, if someone asks for a Pepsi but is served a Coke without being told that is illegal but they are both cola drinks. |

It bothers me cos I don't like the thought of eating animals but I'm not strictly vegetarian cos when I tried to be I missed some meats.
So I only eat certain meats such as beef, chicken, pork really.. The rest like duck, rabbit, deer etc makes me puke! |

I saw that. They wouldn't allow them to film what went into the value burgers. They only showed mid range and premium ranges. |

So is eating horse worse than cow lips, hooves, bums, eyelids? Why people don't know that bastardised food is crap quality is beyond me!
What about the excuse for bread that is sold? GM wheat, chicken feathers and the chorleywood process leaves it as sub-standard sustinance that will damage in the long run. |

I see that most on this thread are not actually against the horse meat, but are worried that we are eating unknown foods! I was talking to a girl at work who does part time work at a stable on a farm and she was horrified that we could kill and eat horses! She has no problem with eating McDonalds every day for lunch. When I asked about the cows killed to make their burgers, she just said "Well, cows are stupid, int they!"
I did tell her that the burgers she got from Tesco may contain horse meat and she said, but I don't know about that, do I! No problem with horse meat here! |
