Conflicting opinions yes conversation and debate is a good thing but I see a lot of people making comments just to belittle others just to get a rise and looking at the age of some of these people you gotta wonder what goes on in there heads |

Polar opinions tend to draw emotive responses, the manner in which they are expressed matters little, words are merely a collection of conjectural symbols and sarcasm is a form wit, you either give as good as you get ! or get out of the way. |

This goes back to a thread I started about trolling. Same thing, but I was shot down at the time that this never went on. |

I do feel that recently there have been a few threads, often started by people quite new to the forums, where the Op has taken offence at some of the responses and replies they have recieved from other members on the thread.
I can understand when the Op has been the subject of abuse or nastiness, but more often than not it is simply another member having a different _iew on a matter and not posting a reply that the Op of some of these threads wants to see.
I thought that was the reason for forums, for debate....not everyone will share the _iews of the Op of a thread, but this is often taken as an attack on some of these Op's....and becomes even more silly when you get the needy members amongst us getting all defensive on behalf of an Op in the faint hope of getting a shag out of it.

Forum Mod Angus & Findhorn |
because I have a different opinion on subjects than others, I respect people who have the opposite _iew to me.
and the happy slapping does my nut in because on the whole, I feel it is false and driven by genitalia. I personally find the fact that a guy can ask a question and be pounced on yet a female will get strokes of kindness and reassurance 'it's his loss honey'... I find that distasteful.

The mods are actually aliens who have been sent here to control and herd us all. They intend to force us all to become blue racist Antartican cheating married VWE BBW fake timewasters who lie about their sexuality, constantly moan about not getting meets and needing help with our profiles and secretly go bareback to get someone elses girlfriend pregnant... Jesh, imagine how fucked up that would make the forums if that was all we ever talked about! Luckily they can't see this post as I'm too smart for them

One of the many things that keeps me interested in forums is reading or taking part in enthusiastic debate on topics where members demonstrate challenging opinions and air those feelings with passion……
But as adults we are all aware of what is reasonable behaviour. So when contributors cross the boundaries of common courtesy and resort to verbal bullying or directing personal insults they are in effect losing all authority of their own _iews or opinions and have no further value to the discussion.
Thats my tupenceworth,,,

I see this quite often in the forums...I think its alot worse for some of the guys new to the scene...they get jumped on for asking a question that was answered weeks before they even joined...and get told they should've done a forum search for the topic....
And welcome to the site! |

It will never change.
There are people who are too thin skinned, there are people who are too opinionated, there are people who want serious discussion, there are people who want to joke around... add to that the odd completely ignorant moron and the odd troll who delights in hounding certain posters (even PMing them at times to carry on arguing) and there will be times when it blows up.
Just be true to what YOU are and leave others to themselves. If someone goes for you on the forum respond but don't get drawn into a long drawn out argument, it's not worth it as they will turn everything you say on it's head and call you the moron.

Personally, and I've not been here long, it seems to me that it's about looking good/smart/witty on here.
You have the grammar Nazis who nit pick, the dry sarcastic ones who accidentally start an argument, and the trolls who just want to be idiots.
Ultimately, it just happens
come at me bro |
