Come on holiday with me?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I know this is kicks sad but I don’t have loads of friends and the ones I do are coupled up so I don’t really have anyone to go on holiday with. Just wondering if anyone’s in the same boat and would fancy going on going somewhere together this summer or autumn? We can do some things together, go off on our own for a bit just would be nice to have some company |

Honestly i strongly recommend hostels. Make sure you choose wisely but if you get a good one they are honestly the best experiences you will have. You will meet so many people from everywhere |

"Brave going on your own. I am next week and it will be bliss
Have a lovely time on your own my first time and I'm looking forward to it "
None of my friends wanted to do the stuff I have planned so going solo and tagging onto some organised group activities for a few days. |

I'm sure your inbox will now ve busting.
But seriously holidaying alone is actually really good , you meet and talk to way more people when travelling alone .
I was sceptical myself but I've now longterm travelled through 26 countries by myself ( well with my dogs ) sure sometimes it would be nice to have someone I'm close to with me but most of the time it's great solo travelling |

All us solo travellers get together and hire an rv and tour around America seeing the sights and attending kinky swinging events? Pitch the idea to channel 5 and get them to pay for it and film our adventures |

I understand how you feel and it can be really hard. Always think it would be nice to have someone to go away with, as a touch point but just do your own things. I desperately want to go away this year but single supplement can make it expensive ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

I'm booking Berlin for a few days in late October with my sister and a friend of hers I've not met! Otherwise I'm in the same boat and wouldn't have anyone to go with, feel free to message me! |

I'm not brave enough to go on holiday alone. Actually, brave's not the word as I'm really not sure I'd enjoy it, so I get what you're saying.
I've never done it, but have you looked into those group holidays where everyone goes alone? Or an activity holiday? Can see it might be a nightmare if it's an awful group but might be worth a try. |

As I quite enjoy travelling alone…..I have done couch surfing in New York which meant I was forced to talk to other people and it was actually great as I got to visit local recommendations rather than just the tourist places!
But my aunty is single and I think she’s done those group single holidays you mentioned yolo! I think one of them they were wine tasting somewhere in Europe! They sound fun! Though weirdly I’d be more scared of that than travelling alone hah ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |

See, I'm the other way; I reckon I'd like a group. I usually get on with most people, but even if I didn't like everyone, I'd be confident of making at least one friend!
I'm happy sightseeing on my own or in a coffee shop etc but when it comes to eating dinner alone, I'm rubbish. I once had a weekend in Sydney all alone and as much as I loved the city, I just didn't really relax and didn't enjoy it as much as I could/should have. |

Totally agree. All my trips abroad have been solo and I stay in hostels all the time, it's far far better for meeting lots of people who you end up doing the most fabulous trips away or excursions with and nighttime beers. Some of my best friends I've met in hostel dorms in Australia Vietnam Thailand USA. .. Staying in nice hotel rooms is fair enough but honestly you meet nobody by comparison to a hostel setup, and frankly a lot of modern hostels are much nicer than many a hotel, at a fraction of the cost and many do have individual rooms if you find you need your own space for a few days .. |

I went onu first solo holiday a few years back.. it was a great experience.. I was totally chilled out.. I met some people outand also met people staying at the same hotel.
My recommendation is to go to a hotel and book half board.. you have a better chance of seeing the same people most days and getting to know them.

Depends on your personality really.
I've travelled alone many times. It means I can do what I want at my own pace.
But I have also travelled with friends (as a two-some) on other occasions, which meant I could be a little more adventurous.

I can't go on holiday with you, but if you find yourself in North Cornwall, I can play the part of ugly friend and we can go out for cocktails ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |
