Cowboy boots. You know the ones. Whether they’re simple in design or adorned with lavish designs and tassels.

Why is it that women can wear them with pretty much anything - jeans, shorts, dresses - and they look cool and sexy; but when men wear them we* look like we’re trying too hard to be rufty tufty urban cowboys from Americaland?

Just why??!! It’s just so egregious.

*I don’t actually own any.

Ages ago I used to watch a programme about brides picking their wedding outfit to de-brain myself. It was based somewhere in Atlanta i think and this was a common occurrence: worn out cowboy boots under a wedding dress. I must say it doesn't appeal to my aesthetics! So don't worry it's not universal.

Hmmm... I'm ambivalent about this... I'm not a fan of Western / Cowboy Boots. Those spurs can be awfully annoying too.

Especially when they stab you in the face while the object of your affection is being furiously admired

Men of a certain age look great in cowboy boots, jeans and a matching jeans shirt.

Well it’s Wild West night at chams next Friday so I will be dusting out the boots and hat along with denim shorts and nipple tassles I think.

Quite right.

Ladies: please remove your cowgirl boots when you're being ravished in the car. The 'pin pricks' on the vehicle upholstery from the spurs are a pain to rectify on the average Maserati™.

Exactly this! I am trying to recall how old my boots are - they may go back to my early 20s. Not sure it is a look I can pull off now, but maybe I should thing about adding to my photos.

I am not sure this translates - the first two are clearly dogs (can understand that a Chihuahua might end up being given a boot [don't shoot me], but Irish setters are gorgeous). Carolina logging boots I get (but prefer my DeWalt's for on site)

I love a girl in cowboy boots. Fringes on her jacket. Swagger in her walk and sass on her lips.

I do like a bit of fringing on my boots.

I have some claret knee high ones and some brown ankle ones. Love wearing them both
