Drinking more or less?

I’ve found since the pandemic ive not drank that much, wasn’t a massive drinker before hand, would occasionally visit the pub throughout the year.

But since the pandemic I don’t seem to want to drink much at all now, won’t bother with pubs, even when invited out, don’t really have a drink at home, I just don’t see it as a necessary part of my life anymore.

Has anyone else eased up on alcohol or have you gone the other way and found you’re drinking more these days?

I drink less but that’s because I spill most of it!

But seriously, I drink less as I’ve gotten older. I feel rubbish for days after and I’m too busy for that. I need to wake up and get on, not wake up and hug a sick bowl.

I've never had an alcoholic drink in my life so nothing has changed. None of my friends are big drinkers but if we go out it's a long time since I've seen them have more than one drink.

I’m drinking less and less and more of my friends don’t drink which helps.

The cost here is very high, even with the recent 30% tax and alcohol licence fees removed it can still cost £100 for 4-5 pints so there’s a real incentive to go for tea and shisha dates instead

Less and as a fairly recently diagnosed diabetic I have to be careful because it affects my blood sugars.

I stopped being a big drinker about 15 years ago. Prior to that I definitely consumed too much, originally because I ran a bar and then due to work hospitality events and client entertaining.

We average maybe 10 trips to a pub/bar per year and aside from that I'll have a few on club nights and we'll have a couple of rare one night weekend trips away for a blowout.

I don't even drink much at home and Fox has never been a big drinker. I have a cupboard full of spirits from Xmas presents over the last 5 years that reduces by about 2 bottles a year and gets topped up by more.

Coffee on the other hand..........

Same as before, usually on the weekend unless we are having a pub meal midweek.

Definitely drink less. I eat and sleep better. Feel more focused on achieving goals than being in a hungover fuzz.

Beer is the devil now I’ve reached middle age!!

Bastard’s never said any of this when I was a whippersnapper drinking 15 pints and still smashing a fitness test the next day!

Now I’ve only to drink a couple and I’m not functioning until the afternoon.

We probably drink the same, 3 nights a week but 2 of those are a shared bottle of wine, night 3 leaves the kitchen looking like a bottle bank.

Worthing

Driving to gigs meant I never drank. Had a glass of wine or two at home on occasions. Having nieces and nephews meant i wanted to set an example and have not drank at all for years.

I only really binge when I’m at the rugby club, otherwise I’m quite happy to drink the zero alcohol beers and drive home. It’s more about the socialising for me
