Just been on news, increase of gonorrhoea, syphilis and chlamydia, condoms recommended as the most efficient prevention, antibiotic resistance is becoming more common also, bag up boys !!!! It's not worth it

Also make use of sh:24 or similar and no matter how clean you think u are or how honest some are (or arnt) take care.

Sorry to be a party proper

Can't imagine many on this site are here for this ?? but you are right, however there has been an increase in testing so it does not necessary mean an increase in infections. The most common group 15-24 Yr olds. It's always good to keep up to date with these things... The antibiotic resistant strains are very scary but then we always new this was coming. Bag up or baton down the hatches ??

Third thread of the day on this.

I won't regurgitate what's said ilon the others but it's likely that swingers are more clued up and likely to get tested more regularly.

As everyone should.

"Sorry, SH:24 tests aren’t currently available in your area"

We live in Greater Manchester, in one of the biggest towns! You can only go to the STI clinic with a prior appointment, for which you must phone up. If you don't get through between 08:30 and 09:00, no-one will answer the phone because all the appointments for the forthcoming period will be booked already. The online booking service comes up with a server error and doesn't work.

Postal kits in this area via local NHS STI clinics are for U25s only.

In the next very large town, the private company that offer the NHS sexual health services has two clinics. One is "closed until further notice" and has been for ages. The second clinic is in a place with fuck all public transport. Your first appointment can only be booked by phone (see earlier comment on getting through on the phone). Once "registered" via the first appointment and having provided a suitable form of photo ID (!), one can book subsequent appointments online. Allegedly. They do run a drop in clinic. For U19s only.

Can you see why it's difficult to get tests done? Basically anyone who can't afford to pay privately won't be getting any tests done and it's almost certainly impossible for people to do any kind of regular testing unless they pay. You need photo ID to register at one of the sexual health clinics here, FFS!

It's not as easy as "get a postal kit", sadly.

This is a very good and true summary - recently had excellent service, but ended up traveling to get it as it was proving to be impossible to get any sensible appointment locally, and a postal kit just is not an option for me !
