Our wedding was mainly paid for by us, my parents paid for fixed things and his parents paid for the photographer as a gift. Otherwise though, it was all us. We were not long out of uni and we didn't spend a fortune either.

Probably could have purchased a house for cash with what my wedding cost.

My dad paid for my wedding dress. I didn’t ask he just insisted he wanted to and my in-laws paid for our photographer as a wedding gift. We were really grateful they wanted to help pay for some things but we wouldn’t have had them pay for the whole day.
