Frankly Boyle - find his material horrific and he once did a conference set for our work place and walked off after 10 mins as no one laughed at anything he said
Al Murray - used to find him amusing, went to see him live and he has no other material than what you see on tv. Find him one dimensional which gets boring really fast |

I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as in they definitely have ‘their time’ and it takes bottle to do it in front of any audience.
But once that shelf life has expired time to move on.
Like Peter Kay I didn’t find it really funny initially as it was a carbon copy of people from near Bolton id experienced myself - but some of his programs are genius.

Not seen his stand up and although the Office was funny in parts, I did find it overrated.
However, Derek, Extras and especially After Life were absolutely brilliant. My best friend always disliked RG but watched After Life as he fancies Roisin Conaty. Even he admits its a great show and since then has watched Derek too.
Try After Life, it will have you laughing one moment and crying the next. Its brilliant and watch out for when RG visits his psychiatrist.  |

We’ve got a great story about Manford.
A few years ago we went to the London palladium to see “an audience with Al Pacino.” Amazing evening, but anyway, before hand we stood outside milling around as you do. Saw loads of celebs with their friends and partners. All as excited as we were. James Caan from dragons den. Justin Bieber. Richard Curtis. All happy to chat and pose for pics etc.
And then along came Jason Manford. Bodyguard each side of him and sunglasses on. Arms out in front of him like he was doing a bad Elvis impression. He shooed away both the people who said hello to him and went into the pub opposite- The Argyll Arms. Obviously a legend in his own mind. |

Worst for me is Frankie Boyle. Not comedy at all.
Best comedian I've seen has to be Ken Dodd. Over 3 hours of proper belly laughs, didn't do a blue joke or offend anyone all night. Class. |
