A local Essex corner shop has been refused planning permission to install shutters for security when it is is closed because it will increase people's perception of danger and presumably make the area look rougher than it actually is. What is going on here guys and will the planners compensate the shop if it is ram raided by a vegan and all the vegetables taken.

Reminds me of covid lockdown when a cake shop near me boarded its windows up despite no workers making cakes and no cash being taken. Were the local militia going to smash it up as they couldn't get a lemon tart and steal the fridges? I'm not buying from them again on principle they think we're thieves and vandals.
