If the person updates their status and use either @ or &. For some reason it displays AMP. |

its an abbreviation of ampersand which is the name for the symbol & but no idea why it pops up every time someone uses one! x |

It doesn't on here because the forum code is different from the profile code. On here the coding behind the forum knows not to try and parse the & symbol as programming code and to just display it, but if you try and use one on your profile the coding doesn't know what to do with it so it will display the ASCII code for ampersand but without it's delimiters, thus you get AMP. |

You can't use a semi colon on the forum either as it is programming code and it breaks to coding. It is also one of the delimiters for ASCII code, the other being the ampersand itself. |
